ANDRE’S POV…
Welcome, everyone. Thank you all so much for being here to celebrate my sons 25th birthday with us. As you know, my sons mean the world to me, and today is a special moment for me as I step back and let them take the reins of the company. I’m proud to announce that Andre will be the new CEO, as he’s proven time and time again that he is more than capable. While Lucas will be stepping into the role of Chief Operating Officer. I know they’re both going to lead the company into a bright future.
Everyone cheered in excitement as I turned to Lucas, who didn’t seem quite as thrilled as I expected. With a big smile, I said, "Lucas, congratulations on your promotion! "Oh, come on, Andre! You’ve worked your charm on my Dad again, haven’t you? You knew he was going to pick me as the CEO, but you worked your magic and won him over again. He said angrily.
Lucas, How do you claim that I used magic on Dad? What spell are you referring to? The same spell you placed on him that forced him to adopt you, he stated firmly and angrily, "He is my dad, Andre, not yours." You seem to forget. Lucas exclaimed, rushing out.
What spell is Lucas talking about?" I asked myself. There is no spell I possess. Does Lucas truly think I cast a spell on Dad because he hates me so much? He never liked me since I became a member of the family.
It was a sunny day in our forest, and the air was filled with the scent of pine and adventure. My father, always a man of mystery, never shared where he went or what he did. Aunt Alice, my guiding star, once told me that my mother had passed away giving birth to me. She's always been like a mother to me.
For my tenth birthday, Dad took me to a city I have never seen before. It was bustling with people and adorned with stunning buildings. At the park, he asked if I wanted to ride the roller coaster. Watching the kids laugh and scream with joy, I couldn't help but feel excited. "Yes!" I said, my heart racing with excitement.
My father put me on a roller coaster, telling me to have fun while he went to get something for me to eat. After the ride, another dad who was there with his son helped me get off. I waited for my father all day, but he never came back. Days turned into weeks, and I wandered around the park, begging for food.
One evening, while I was out on the street, I saw a car parked on the side of the road and another car approaching. In a moment of desperation, I somehow found the strength to stop the car. I still don't know how I managed to do it, but I did.
The man inside the parked car got out, stunned that I had saved his life by stopping the other car from crashing into his. As soon as he saw me, he recognized me, and I recognized him too. "You're the boy from the park the other day," he said. I nodded. "How were you able to stop that car? You're so small to have such strength. You must be a special child," he added. "Where are your parents?"
"I can't find my dad. We came to the city together, but I can't find him anymore," I replied.
"What is your name, boy?" he asked calmly.
"My name is Andre."
"Andre, would you like to come with me?"
Would you like me to adopt you as my child?" he asked. I nodded, tears filling my eyes. "Wipe your tears, child. First, we need to take you to the hospital to make sure you're not hurt. Oh, and Lucas, my son, will adore you because you're both the same age."
I smiled as we got into the car and headed to the hospital.
However, Lucas didn't like me. From the moment he saw me, he was angry. Whenever he did something wrong, he would lie to our father and say that I did it, and I would get punished instead.
He is the only brother I have and I will always love him even if he doesn’t reciprocate it.
I took up my role as CEO back in the office. My mind was racing while I was going over some documents. Why was the rushing feeling in my veins so thrilling?
ACROSS THE CITY…
Luis, did you have an urgent matter to discuss? Lucy questioned as she sat down. Thank you for coming, Lucy. I believe it is time to talk about our 0children, he remarked. Luis, are you implying what I believe you are? She asked, lifting her brow. Yes, Mr. Blackwood confirmed leaning forward. This is more than simply a marriage proposal. They will create and alliance that will strengthen us, an heir to bridge our worlds.
Lucy and Mr Blackwood have known each other for years. A partnership formed out of need to ensure the safety of Lupine Hollow during stormy times. They used their resources to maintain harmony between supernatural beings and humans.
But, Luis, which of your sons would you like my daughter Samantha to marry? Lucas, or Andre? Lucy enquired. Samantha and Andre would make a nice combination, don't you think? Mr. Luis replied with a smile. Andre is still very young; he may not want to marry now, let alone to a werewolf, and he has no idea we exist. Lucy cautioned pretentiously, knowing that she liked the idea of Samantha marrying Andre, an eligible guy in town.
Mr Luis kept her gaze, realising the gravity of his proposal but remaining unwavering. The boy is ready and capable, and I feel Samantha would be happy to marry him. As she will take over from you, She need a strong man like Andre as her husband. Mr Luis said.
Fine but we need to tread carefully. Lucy said as she didn’t want to sound too eager.
