January 14th, 2011 at 12:35pm Bank Account: 34,649.90 I headed over to Cristian's penthouse. I rang the doorbell. A few seconds later, I was inside a very lavishly decorated apartment. I looked at the place with astonishment. As I looked and took a breather from what the place was, I secretly promised myself, this was something I wanted to achieve by myself. "How are you doing?" "Good. "I see you like the place." "It's beautiful. You have an astounding view." "Yeah. I love that view." "You ready for some food?" Cristian asked. "Absolutely, I'm starving. What's cooking?" "Hope you like spaghetti." "We'll see," Madeline winks. As they sit down for the meal, Madeline looks at the meal in awe. Wow, he even made it look pretty. How do you even make spaghetti look pretty? "Wow, this looks delicious." "Hope you like it, it's an old recipe. One of my favorites. Give it a try." Madeline picks up her fork, digs it into the too-beautiful-to-eat dish, and puts it in her mouth. "Woah. This is different than I was expecting. It has lots of flavors." "Do you like it?" "Hmm... I'm not sure yet. "I'll think about it some more." Madeline says, with a grin. "Okay, on a scale of 1 to 10, what's the judge's score?" "8?" "I mean I'll take it. That's pretty high up there." "Not really." "What?!" "You mean an 8 isn't that high?" "I guess it's high if it's your standard." "Haha okay okay." "So tell me about the progression of your project, if you feel comfortable about it. I know I'm the investor and all, but I can take a non-biased view." "Well, I think I found a programmer. She's very good at what she does and has an impressive portfolio. "Sounds perfect. So tell me about your family," Cristian says. "My parents and I don't get along and I have two siblings, a brother, and a sister. I'm the oldest." "Tell me more." "Well, I left the house at 16 and it's been a lot of learning and coping and becoming an independent person and learning to love myself." "Well, I can see that would be really hard." "What about you, Cristian?" "I have a younger brother named Zack, and my family is in my life, but we aren't close." "Why not?" "My parents want me to marry someone of their choosing and they are in talks about it right now." "Woah, then should we be talking at all?" "I don't know, all I know is I really like you and I want to keep learning more about you." "There's not much more to know about me." "Why did you leave home at 16?" "My parents were fighting every day and every night, I would be too scared to sleep. It was just too much." "What would they fight about?" "Their marriage, their love, money, other people, us, as in the children. Anything and everything." "Sounds rough." "They wouldn't divorce either, just so much noise." "I'm sorry. That's all a lot."
