Dante shrugged. “Probably at one of his companies. The man never stops working.”
I frowned, leaning against the counter. “What companies?”
“Didn’t you know?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. “Alessio’s got his hands in just about everything. Shipping, tech, real estate, even luxury goods. Half the city owes him in one way or another.”
I blinked. “Wait, shipping? Like…internationally?”
“Yep,” Dante said, leaning back in his seat. “He’s got a fleet of ships that’d make most governments jealous. Not to mention the real estate empire. Half the properties in Verona belong to him.”
I stared at him, processing this new information. I knew Alessio was powerful, but this was next-level.
“That’s…impressive,” I admitted, glancing at the disaster on the stove. “And intimidating.”
