  Amber's POV   I stare at the note like the words are going to rearrange themselves and tell me it's all a joke. The morbid ink stares back at me as if it's happy to be the bearer of bad news. All I can think about is how Kayla must've felt. Did she know what he was going to do to her? I should've paid more attention to who she was with at that bar.   Kayla is dead because of me.
