Alex's POV
Rita chuckles, grabbing my arm to pull me towards her. "Tell her the truth, Alex. She needs to know the reason behind all those things you said. If you want any chance of being her forever, you have to tell her the truth."
I shut the door. Everything is happening all at once. Telling her my secret might only make things worse. She's under a lot of stress. Her friend just died, and she found out that the fate of our species falls on her. This can't be a good time to take a trip down memory lane.
I can only respond to Colin and Paige's goodbye with an icy stare. Their silence has hurt me, and they need to understand that. Especially Colin. I've never kept secrets from him. I damn sure wouldn't keep a secret about Paige from him.
