Alex's POV
Gripping her legs, I move us into the kitchen. I warm a washcloth to clean us both up. Her eyes are heavy. She must be feeling as delightfully drained as I do. I carry her back to the living room, listening to her snore as I lay her down. I lay myself down on the couch, draping her over me. Our bodies melt together into sleep.
The sun brings a relaxed cloak around us when it peeks through the windows. We made it through another night and what a night it was. I'm met with the prettiest eyes the minute I open mine. Before I can give her a proper good morning, a knock interrupts us. Her smile deflates, making me furious at whoever is invading our space.
The door opens when we refuse to answer. I pull the blanket up to cover Amber fully. It leaves my chest partially. I co
