Chapter 2
It was a few minutes after the three very attractive and somewhat gentlemen-like men had asked me to court them and the three of them seemed to have been talking amongst themselves rather animatedly since then. They must have been super excited to have gotten an affirmative answer from me, but that didn't mean that they had to forget that I was there altogether.
"I think it's time for me to get back to the highway," I speak up after a while, wanting to get the three alphas' attention back onto him. I did have to get back to the road and my truck again anyways, I was already late to my job and although Noah had talked to the manager on both of our behalves explaining to her the situation, we still needed to arrive there eventually because after all we needed the money more than anything.
"We'll be walking you back to the highway," Rafael says to me sternly, not giving me a choice in the matter as the other two of his siblings turn towards me, staring down at me with their identical pairs of eyes that were filled with swirling shades of mossy green.
I only roll my own eyes as I take a step towards the alpha in question and his brothers, my small feet were bare and cold against the damp ground of the woods. You could hear the leaves crunching beneath my feet and I would normally cringe at the feeling of being barefoot in such a place, but I felt so calm with the three siblings that I didn't really care about my current foot condition. "Only if you introduce yourselves to me along the way," I tell them, walking around the trio of brothers as I already start on my journey back towards the road, not waiting to see if they were following along behind me as I go.
"I believe I should know the names of the men that will be courting me in the future," I say nonchalantly, as I take a quick peak back towards the other men to see their reactions to my words, they were already starting to take a few strides forwards to keep up with my already moving form. It doesn't take them but a few steps to catch up with my own short strides as they stand besides me and I stop for a second as I wait for the three mens' answer to my words.
The three alphas stayed silent for a few seconds and I stare up at them curiously as I wait for a response from either one of them. I only raise an eyebrow at them when none of them respond and that seems to push them into action. "I am Rafael as you already probably know," the tallest and most dominant out of the three brothers says, stepping in front of me so that he can properly introduce himself to me. "I am the oldest out of my siblings."
Rafael was only a few inches taller than his younger siblings, but with the confidence and power that oozes off of the male in boat loads it makes him seem like he's twice that compared to his younger siblings. He had the longest hair out of his brothers, it falling onto his shoulders in loose waves instead of tight ones like his siblings seemed to have. His strikingly green eyes stared down at me with the most intense look inside them that had me shifting a bit at their intensity.
"And I'm Dominic, the middle brother," the brother that should be the automatic most-intimidating looking out of the three brothers, with all of the tattoos and that stone cold look that seems to be normal for him to have spread across his face, says as he sends me a bright smile totally contradicting his stony appearance.
Dominic's arms and hands were covered in tattoos that I knew must tell some sort of story in the other male's eyes. With the beanie gone from his head I could see just how unruly his hair really was, the dark curly locks falling into his face every once and a while to the male's dismay. Their was a dark ring of metal that peaked out from the right side of the male's plump pink lips, the piercing looked so attractive on the alpha even if it normally wouldn't on most people. I never really thought I would ever find those sort of things attractive, tattoos and piercings, but I found the middle siblings' looks to be one of the sexiest things I've seen in an alpha. I guess I had a bit of a kink for tattoos and piercings in the end.
"And I'm Antony, the youngest," the last of the siblings says stepping forwards, fixing his rather large black rimmed glasses onto the bridge of his nose as he sends me a bit of a nervous smile.
Antony seemed to be the most shy and insecure out of all his siblings, there was this nervous air that seemed to completely surround him, while his brothers just oozed this sense of confidence that edged more than a bit on being cocky. He was the shortest out of his siblings, but only by an inch or two and although he didn't seem to have as many muscles as Rafael, or no tattoos from what I could see, unlike Dominic, he made up for it with his charming nature. His hair was the shortest out of his siblings only coming to just below his ears while Dominic's was just about an inch longer in length.
I take a small nod as I send each of them the brightest of smiles, glad that I was at least able to place a name to all three of their faces now. I realize that I never told them my name either and quickly rush to introduce myself as well. "My names Mason, it's very nice to meet you guys," I tell them politely, since it's only fair that they know my name since I now know all of theirs.
I get three bright smiles in response to my own introduction. "It's very nice to meet you too, little doe," Dominic speaks up for the rest of his siblings, a goofy smile spread across his face after he says the little nickname that him and his siblings have given to me.
The three men escorted me back through the dense forest and to the highway where our story had first begun just about an hour prior. As we walked the three men told me a bit about themselves and their lives. Apparently they were only here on business for their herd, it turned out that Rafael was the sole leader of said group. They never talked about their parents or family, which confused me a bit and I reminded myself to ask more about that later on down the line once they've gotten to know each other a bit more.
I told them a bit about my own life and how I was adopted and that my family was going through some hard times at the moment, even talking to them about my job and how a certain one of my co-workers knew just how to push my buttons all of the times that I just wanted to strangle them. They listened to everything I said with such interest, which usually never happened with anyone I've been around beside Noah, of course. I was never the center of anyone's attention, but as I talked the three alphas never seemed to take their eyes off of me, sending a fluttery sort of feeling through my body and settling in my stomach. It felt nice to have that sort of attention for once.
I just felt so comfortable around them and I've only known them for about an hour, it was a perplexing thing for me to feel this comfortable with someone I've just met. It must have had something to do with my instincts over finally meeting someone of my own kind. I also couldn't the fact that there was a little place inside my chest that felt that these three men could possibly be the ones that I have been waiting for all of this time. Maybe my hopes and dreams were finally coming true after all of this time of praying for a miracle like this.
When we finally arrived back to the road the traffic jam seemed to be completely over. Noah had moved my pickup truck to the side of the road, thankfully, or my poor baby would have gotten demolished by the speeding vehicles around us. My little brother had even been nice enough to turn the brothers' expensive vehicle's four ways on so that the parked vehicle in the middle of the road wouldn't cause any accidents. It was rather thoughtful of the boy and I remembered to give my little brother a giant hug for how thoughtful he was in a time like this.
"We'll see you later, little doe," Rafael promises me, sending me a small wink as that same arrogant smirk of his was spread wide across his face. His brothers nod in response to their sibling's words and send him small waves before they walk towards their own car.
I only smile in response to the words, sending them my own little wave before I turn my back on them to walk towards my pickup truck. Noah was sitting in the right side of the cab with an unamused look spread across his face as he watches me make my way to the vehicle, a giant thousand watt smile spread across my face.
"So," I go on to say as I hop up and into the cab of my truck, turning towards my little brother with a happy look on my face. I don't think I could stop smiling even if I tried after what had happened back in the woods with the three brothers.
"So, what happened?" Noah asks me, turning his body so that he was staring at me with a curious look spread across his face. From the last time he saw his older brother he was confronting three very angry alphas and they had chased him off into the woods. So, why did he come back out with them with smiles spread across all four of their faces.
"They're the same species as me," I tell the male and I knew that if I looked at my face in the rearview mirror I'd be able to see a far away look spread across my eyes as I thought off to everything that could possibly happen with my new courtship with the triplets.
Noah rolls his eyes as he stares me with an unamused look. "I could see that from the way they changed and chased after you into the woods," he tells me as if my statement from before had been extremely stupid. "One of them was a freaking moose at that!"
A content smile spreads across my face as I think about Rafael's monstrous moose form. It was a little scary to me at first thinking that one of the brothers' second form was a moose, but in the end I kind of found that fact to be rather attractive to me. "Yeah," I say dreamily as I stare out the front window, watching the three brothers' car drive away.
Noah sends me a look that totally shows how much he was judging me inside his head in that moment before he let's out a loud sigh and asks the question that he has on his mind. "And they didn't attempt to hurt you at all?" He asks me, raising his eyebrows up at me in confusion. He seemed really perplexed by how much I seemed to have gotten lost in the wonders that were the three alphas that were going to court me. I did punch one of them in the face and they had chased me off into the woods so it wasn't like Noah had any reason not to be concerned by what had happened between the four of us in the forest.
"No, they actually want to court me!" I tell my little brother rather proudly, sticking my head up high as I tell the male the good news. I was extremely proud of myself for getting three extremely handsome alphas of the same species as myself to court me. It was a huge achievement to me and even if Noah didn't seem to think so I was super proud of myself.
"They want to court you?" He asks me shocked at my statement as he stares at me with confusion spread through his bright blue eyes, trying to decipher exactly what I was telling him.
I nod, starting up my truck deciding that it was best to get to work before we ended up fired for not showing up to our shift. It wasn't like our manager didn't know exactly what was going on and she was usually super understanding with things like that, but that didn't mean that she wasn't going to be a little bit on edge with having to of her employs be an hour late for work. It was always toughing being down a person let alone two people.
"All three of them want to court you?" Noah asks another question, still trying to figure out what I was telling him from the look across his face.
I turn to glare at my overly curious younger brother who didn't seem to understand what I was telling him. "Questions much?" I ask him with a raised eyebrow as I drive us towards our destination that was only a few more miles down the road.
"I'm sorry, I'm just trying to clear up exactly what you're telling me," he says, as he let's out a loud sigh and I only smile at my younger sibling as I pull into the parking lot to the large mall where our workplace resided inside.
I shake my head at my baby brother as I park in one of the spots closest to the building that I can find. "Yes, all three of them want to court me and before you ask they acted just like gentlemen should have," I tell him, reaching over across the seat to place my hand on top of his in a reassuring gesture.
"You really don't have to worry about me, Noah," I tell the other male reassuringly, knowing that, that's why the younger male kept acting so many questions about the situation was because he was worried about me. There was absolutely nothing for him to be worried about however and I was going to try my best to reassure him of that. The three alpha brothers had absolutely no intentions of hurting me and for some strange reason I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed around them, more than I've ever been with anyone else.
Noah let's out a small sigh, moving his hand so that he's holding mine in his, giving it a small squeeze before he lets go of it altogether. "I'll take your word for it that these brothers aren't that sketchy," he tells me as he sends me a small smile at his attempt at a joke.
I only roll my eyes at the other male's words, giving him a small shove with one of my elbows before I grab the small black backpack I use to carry my work clothes in and turn to my little brother with a bright smile. "Let's get going, after all Chipotle doesn't run well with only three people," I joke myself, knowing fully well that our manager was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off as she tried to make up for not having two of her employees.
Noah let's out a loud laugh. "Yeah, I think Alyssa is probably going crazy without us, we better getting in there before too much goes wrong," he says agreeing with me as he grabs his own brown backpack with his work clothes stuffed inside.
***********
It's been a few days since the incident happened with the three alpha brothers and since then I haven't heard from them at all. Maybe they were just busy with whatever business it was that they had to do in the insignificant little Maryland town that I lived in. There was this little voice inside my head that kept telling me that I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up with someone so soon that maybe they weren't the right ones for me and that I might just never see them again. The thought always made a pain go through the place where my heart was and I absolutely hated how attached I already seemed to be towards three men that I've only known for three days.
"Cheer up, Mace!" Noah tries to tell me as he throws a small piece of chicken at me from his spot by the stainless steel table at the grill station where he was cutting up the chicken that he had just finished making. "We've got customers to serve!"
I only roll my eyes when just as he says that a few males that look to be in their early twenties walk inside the restaurant, they each held a few bags in their hands from different stores in the mall as they make their way happily towards where I was standing at the beginning of the line. "Hello and welcome to Chipotle! What can I get started for you?" I chirp to the first costumer, a fake smile spread across my face as I pretend to be the happiest person in the world to be working at Chipotle.
"I think I'll just get a burrito, cutie," the man tells me, earning a blush to spread across my cheeks at the little nickname. The male was sort of attractive and with the way the alpha brothers seemed to just totally have disappeared from my life before they were even really in it, sue me for getting all flustered over an alpha flirting with me.
I place one of the burrito tortillas onto the burning hot burrito press and smile back up at the man in front of me. "Would you like any white or brown rice on your burrito?" I ask him, batting my eyelashes a little more than I normally would have as I asked the question.
"A little bit of brown would be great," the alpha says, noticing the little hints of flirting that I was giving him.
As I continue to make the other male's burrito the line starts to get longer and I don't happen to notice the three men that have just walked into the small space of the restaurant. "Did I make this perfect for you today?" I ask the alpha in front of me after I wrapped his burrito in it's foil, an overly friendly and a smidgen flirtatious smile spreads across my face.
"The only thing that would make it even better was getting your phone number, darling," the alpha tells me and the pet name makes my heart flutter a bit and what did I really have to lose? I grab the black marker that we always keep by the cashier's station to write what type of protein was on the food when we got super busy, so that the cashier doesn't get confused with too many orders, though instead of writing a "C" like I normally would for chicken on the male's burrito I wrote down my phone number instead adding a cute little heart to the end of the numbers.
"There you go, alpha," I tell the male with a small wink as I push the burrito towards the man. Our cashier, a girl in the same grade as myself who seemed to absolutely hate everything in life, only seem to look annoyed by the gesture as she starts to check the alpha out.
That's when I hear three simultaneous growls that have me turning my head towards the noise and my eyes widen when I see exactly who the noises came from. There they were standing only a few feet away from me, the three men that I couldn't stop thinking about no matter how hard I tried, standing behind the alpha I had just flirted with, they all looked absolutely livid over the situation that unfolded in front of them.
I watch as Rafael steps in between the other alpha and the counter, reaching over the counter to grab the black marker from before as he practically rips the man's burrito out of his hands and crosses out the numbers that were spread across the tinfoil wrapper. "I think it's time for you and your friends to leave," he tells the alpha with an intimidating glare and I watch as the male grabs his burrito and change and practically runs out of the restaurant with his tail between his legs, his buddies quickly following after him.
The man and his friends were half the size of the brothers and they knew that they didn't stand a chance against them if it truly came down to a fight. I felt a little bad for the exchange since it was my fault for flirting with the man when I agreed to court the brothers, but in my defense I thought they were never going to see me again and who was I to know they were in my workplace at that same point in time?
The restaurant quickly cleared out after the exchange, no one wanting to mess with the three intimidating alphas in the room. I let out a sigh at the loss of customers due to the three alphas. We were low on business as it was lately with the company upping their prices no one could afford to eat here anymore.
"Did you have to scare the poor lad half to death?" I ask them with a raised eyebrow, as I move away from the cashier counter to take a look at the food spread across the hotline to see if we were low on anything so that I could let Noah know right away so that he can get started on making it. The three alphas only followed me as they stand on the other side of the glass, unamused looks spread across their faces.
"You're ours, little doe," Dominic tells me and I knew that if I looked up he would be sending me a very intimidating look that would tell me just how serious he was about the statement. "You don't get to flirt with anybody else while we're in the process of courting you, baby," the alpha tells me and I move my gaze from the pan that held our steak which was about half full to stare my back up at the three men on the other side of the glass, knowing that I couldn't distract myself from the conversation for forever.
I cross my arms across my chest stubbornly as I glare at the three men. "And how is that fair?" I ask them with a roll of my eyes, after all what if this whole courtship between us didn't work out then I wouldn't have anywhere else to turn to. Wasn't it better to have a backup plan ready?
"It's fair because we're the ones trying to win your affections right now and we should be the ones getting all of your attention, not another alpha," the words come from Antony surprising me a bit, not expecting the way that he growls out the last three words, it wasn't very like him to get so aggressive over something, but who was I to assume that when I didn't even really know the alpha?
"Mason, what's going on here?" Noah asks when he notices the way that the three men were scowling at me from the other side of the counter and makes his way away from the grill to come stand beside me.
"These are the alphas that I met a few days ago remember?" I say it as a question, trying to re-jog the other male's memories from a few days ago as I send him a small look to try and get him to save me from the awful situation that I seemed to have dragged myself into. I really just wanted to flirt with another alpha because I thought these brothers were never going to see me again after all, not because I thought the alpha was more handsome or charming then the three brothers.
Noah grits his teeth as he realizes exactly who the alphas were that were in front of him and sends them all a large glare. "And just what are you three's intentions with my brother?" He asks them with a stern look spread across his face and all I can do is stop myself from face palming because did Noah really not learn anything from what I had done a few days ago?
I couldn't help the sigh of relief that leaves my lips when I notice that the three alphas in front of them don't get angry due to Noah's question. Instead they give the male a look of understanding. It surprised me a bit, but I'd rather have it this way then have them wanting to murder my baby brother in the end.
"Our intentions are nothing but honest with your brother I assure you," Rafael tells the dyed blonde beside me with a reassuring smile spreading across his face, before he turns to look at me with those extremely intimidating green eyes of his.
Noah glares at the large curly haired alpha in front of him, apparently not buying what the man was telling him, he never really had a thing for trusting alphas. "And how am I suppose to know that?" He asks the other man, and I could tell that my little brother was at that point of anger where he was ready to jump over the counter and punch the alphas in the face, much like what I had done just a few days prior and although it ended pretty well for me, I doubt it would end the same for Noah.
Antony sighs as he notices the male's anger and being the most unproblematic out of his siblings he tries to find the words to calm the male down. "You don't, but that's what trust is suppose to be for," he says, fixing the glasses on his nose so that they weren't practically falling off of his face anymore and I have to hold in the fond noise that was building inside of me at how adorable the move seemed to be with the alpha.
"Trust?!" Noah asks as he finally snaps at the three men in front of him. "How am I supposed to trust three alphas I don't even know?!" He shouts at them, and I hold the male back from trying to jump up onto the counter that we place our costumers' food on. For one, that's not sanitary and for two, fighting the triplets definitely wasn't in Noah's best interest.
"You aren't, little doe, is," Rafael says to Noah as he sends him another small glare before turning his attention back to me with a pleading look in his beautiful green eyes.
Noah only glares at the man after his words and I roll my eyes. He thought I was going crazy the other day and now he acts like this. How does that make any sense? "You expect Mason to just trust that you have good intentions with him?" He asks the man in frustration, really not understanding what the man was talking about.
"Yes," Rafael says simply to my younger brother. "If you don't have trust in a relationship then that relationship isn't going to work out very well."
Suddenly I feel another strong male presence behind me, more or less, another strong alpha. The only other person that I know that, that could be would be Joe, who was our manager for the day and that makes me shrink in fear, knowing that something was most-likely about to go down with my boss and the three alpha's in front of me.
"What is happening here?" Joe asks the three males in front of them, with a skeptical look spread across his face.
Joe was a really nice manager, but he was also very strict. He treated everyone fairly, but when someone didn't do their job right or if customers seemed to prevent their workers from doing their jobs then he got a little angry. He really liked having everything go smoothly.
"We're courting, Mason," Rafael tells Joe with a charming smile spreading across his face. I could tell that the alpha was hoping that the other alpha would understand the need to court and let the whole thing simmer down to nothing, but I knew that wasn't going to end up happening.
"Not in my restaurant you're not," Joe says sternly to the man and his brothers, an unhappy look spread across his manager's face. "This restaurant is for paying costumers only if you're going to hold up my workers from doing their job then get out," he tells them with a look of annoyance across his face.
Rafael sighs at the other alpha's words sending the alpha a large glare before he turns his attention back onto me. "When do you get off work?" He asks me, staring down at me with those intense green eyes of his as he waits for my answer.
"At three o'clock," I tell the alpha, taking a look at the clock as I say the words forgetting what time it was and I hold in my groan as I notice that I had two more hours in this place of cruel Hell. I hated working on weekends my shifts always seemed extra long on those days. I've been at my place of work since eight o'clock in the morning and although the seven hours looks good on a paycheck it always seemed to slowly kill me inside.
"Then we will meet you here at three o'clock then," Dominic says giving me a smirk as he knows that I won't be arguing with him.
"Bye, little doe," Rafael says giving me a small wave before he turns to leave.
I sigh watching them leave. I don't know if I am happy about tonight or not. I'm nervous about the three brothers picking me up after work. Where are they taking me? Why? What do they want? Are they really interested in courting me or are they just trying to see if I will be easy with them? All these questions were floating around in my head and I just wanted some answers to them as I overthink everything in my life.
"Hey Mason, those alpha's were pretty nice on the eyes, where did you find them?" Michael, another one of my co-workers, a male omega like myself and Noah asks me as he finally appears from the back of the restaurant where he was working on washing all of the dishes that have gotten backed up over the course of the morning.
I roll my eyes at the other omega. He was always trying to get me and Noah to tell him about our personal lives even though I really don't like bringing those things into work because that's not the place for those types of things, but I decide to answer the male anyways. "I found them by cussing them out during a traffic jam," I tell him honestly as I stare off into space, bored at not having any customers walking into the restaurant, probably scared off by the intense atmosphere that was still floating around the small space.
Michael smirks at my answer to his question. "They must have liked your sass for them to want to court you, huh?" He asks me with an eyebrow raised, then a playful smirk spreads across his face as he thinks about his next line and I prepare myself for the s****l joke that was coming. "Or maybe it was just that amazing ass that has them hooked."
I only roll my eyes at the other omega, knowing that something like that was coming. "You do have an amazing bum, Mace!" Noah calls out from his spot at the grill a proud smile spread across his face as he flips the onions and peppers that he was cooking.
"I doubt that it's my big butt that has these three alphas interested in me," I tell them both with a shake of my head, pushing the whole idea out of my head as I get back to work.
"Whatever you say," Michael says as he sends me one last joking smile before he grabs the stack of dishes at Noah's station and disappears to the back of the restaurant again to continue his dishes adventure.
With the other omega gone I focus back on my own job, letting out a loud sigh as I try to push the whole situation with the triplets out of my head, but no matter how hard I tried the thoughts of what could possibly happen tonight kept floating through my head. These three brothers already had me thinking about them nonstop with only three days of knowing them what was going to happen when I grow more attached to them? Would I be alright if they backed out once I'm completely invested in our relationship? I knew that it was worth a try at least and if I end up breaking in the end then I guess someone will just have to pick up the pieces for me.
