Family meeting

Someone knocked on my door, pulling me from my trail of thought.
"Who is it?", I asked curiously.
The person barged in revealing herself as Maria, Blair's favorite maid. She looked at me with disgust.
"How dare a maid like you barge into my room?",I roared in anger.She just laughed.
"Do you think you are the lady of the house. You are just Blair's substitute and an orphan even in this world",She said.
I was totally pissed that I could feel the burning sensation in my fingertips. I wanted to burn that b***h to ashes but Leo told me to calm down.
“At least you are not that dumb seeming like you understand the situation you are in. Anyway the Marquis has called for a family meeting so he asked me to get you”. She said coldly.
She soon left. After the ordeal, I vented my anger on Leo.
"Why didn't let me kill that bitch." I said, my anger flaring up.
"You have to get that anger of yours in control or else your revenge plan won't succeed. When they find out you have awaken early, Blair would find all means to get rid of you besides the maid can use basic earth magic. You were no match cause you are weak", Leo said.
As I thought about it I realized I was in the wrong. I quickly apologized for my behavior.
I went down to the big family hall where the meeting was being held. I entered the Grand hall to see the faces of the family that once treasured me but now saw me as a burden.
My eyes darted through the room searching for only one person, Blair Winston. I saw her sitting smugly and leaning towards Mrs Winston.
I smirk inwardly knowing that I would exact my revenge sooner or later. I greeted the family but they treated me like I didn't exist and just bluntly told me to sit down.
I took a seat farthest from the family. Mr Winston said the day of awakening was near and he hope we would do him proud like Eiden who was a prodigy in ice magic.
"We?",I sneered. I know this meeting was for Blair but they had to drag me in. He then turned his attention to me.
"Pearl, I know we are not not of the same blood but you must not try to dent the family name by awakening a poor attribute." He said in a calm yet threatening tone.
I sneered inwardly so this is your way of telling me to not get in Blair's way to greatness.
Blair chimed in with that good girl act.
"Dad I know Pearl won't disappoint you. After all you have been so good to her. Right, sister?"
I gave a sarcastic smile as I told Mr Winston that I would try my best.
He looked at me shocked for a few seconds before returning to his normal demeanor. Maybe it was the way I addressed him. I usually called him Dad but now I called him Mr Winston.
The meeting ended and everyone was dispersed. As I headed back to my room, I felt a familiar presence following me.i halted in my tracks.
"It won't be good for the young master to follow me to my room. It would only paint me as a seductress and I haven't even cleared my name as an ungrateful brat yet". I said cooly.
He stepped out of the shadows and walked towards me. He tried to say something but the words couldn't come out.
"Please young master if you have nothing to tell me or for me to do then I would be on my way. "
I began to walk away but halted when he spoke up.
"Pearl, I am sorry. I didn't trust you but I trusted that snake, Blair. I lost the only person I care about. Could you ever forgive me? "He said as he fell on his knees.
These were the words I used to hope he would say when he figured out his mistake back in the old world but now I had no use for it.
I looked at him intently for a trace of deceit but found none. He was completely genuine but all the pain and hurt I endured while they painted me as the villain, treated me like I didn't exist even on my birthday.
"Forgive you?" My voice came out hoarse from the pain of the past.
" You think it's that easy. You think I would forgive you because you said sorry. Do you remember how many times I had to apologize for the things I didn't do. Even in this world I woke in a cellar and I heard it was your doing. I can never forgive you."
"Pearl, please I am willing to do anything to gain your trust and for you to call me brother again." He said his voice laced with sadness and guilt.
"Brother? I can never see you as a brother. The brother I had died in the accident with my parents. I don't have a family. Remember these words lord Eiden, you said it yourself I'm just an orphan leaching off your family's sympathy."
His eyes widen in shock. He looked at me intently, guilt washed all over his face. Only if he hadn't sided with Blair that day maybe things could have been different.
"Please master Eiden get up. Rumours might spread that I am bullying the young master." I said coldly and left.
Eiden got up heartbroken.
I went to my room fighting back the tears that threatened to fall.
"Woah, that was an intense family drama." Leo said. He saw how hard I was trying to hide my tears. He told me to let the tears follow. He tried to calm me down and then told me to get some rest.
I thanked him. He gave me a pill to enable me to have a good night rest.
Training starts tomorrow and don't think I would go easy on you, he said.
For a system you are quite caring it's like you are an actual person I muttered as the medicine made me drowsy. I later went to bed
