HOLLY When I awoke, I had a vague recollection of Jake holding me. Although I couldn’t be completely sure that I hadn’t just dreamt that he was there. I was alone now, but I could hear voices nearby. The voices were female. I strained to hear what they were saying, but I could only pick up the odd word here and there. Whoever they were, they seemed to be talking about me. Climbing out of the bed, I crept closer to the door, trying to hear them better. I froze when a voice, which I now recognised as Ally’s, said “She has a right to know. I love my brother, but he f****d up, and Holly paid the price.” The other voice told her that she agreed, but that it was his place to decide if and when to tell, not theirs. Ally huffed but said ok. I heard footsteps walking away and saw the door handle
