chapter 3

237 Words
Months went by, and Amelia continued to visit the Werewolf Queen in secret. She learned more about the creature's past, about how she had once been a young woman like herself. But one day, when Amelia arrived in the forest, she found the Werewolf Queen in a state of distress. She was pacing back and forth, whimpering as though in pain. Amelia immediately knew that something was wrong. "What's happening?" she asked, approaching the creature cautiously. The Werewolf Queen turned to face her, and Amelia could see that there was something different about her eyes. They were sharper, more alert than ever before. "It's coming," the creature growled, her voice low and menacing. "The change." Amelia knew what that meant. The Werewolf Queen was about to transform into a werewolf, as she did every full moon. Without hesitation, she knelt down beside the creature, determined to help her through the change. With shaking hands, she stroked the fur on the creature's back, murmuring words of comfort as she trembled. The transformation was painful to watch. The Werewolf Queen howled in agony as her bones cracked and shifted. But when it was over, she stood before Amelia in a new form: that of a massive wolf. Amelia could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she looked at the creature that stood before her. For the first time, she realized the true power of the Werewolf Queen.
