The alarm bells blared in my mind, urging me to step back. I frowned, watching him. "How do I know you're not lying?" Davide's lips curved into a sly smirk. "I've just committed treason right in front of you. I killed two of Alpha Matteo's warriors, and you still think we're on different sides?" His words had a ring of truth, yet caution held me back. "This could still be a trap." He snorted. "What would I gain from it?" I pressed my lips into a thin line. "Maybe you're trying to get me to admit I'm part of the resistance." He sighed.
