Katty opened the car door and breathed the fresh air. Even though she’d driven off with a destination in mind—buy booze, no matter where she had to go—the convenience store, out of town to a real liquor store, a neighbor’s house if they had any to steal—she found herself driving into the park. She literally turned in, drove through on the little curvy road, and parked at the picnic building. She stepped out of her car and quietly shut the door.
