Bea shoved the book back onto her book shelf. Not that one. She had a certain one or two in mind and she couldn’t find them. “Daryl & Dumpty.” She sang the lyrics, remembering the melody as she went. “Had a great fall. They climbed and they bumped and then built a great wall.” She knew this by heart after watching the program every day, sometimes several times a day. Sometimes all night when Mommy left her alone while she ran out and did whatever she did all night. “They shoveled and hammered and soon it was tall. Daryl and Dumpty had a great wall.” Whenever she sang the song that went along with the TV program, she pictured the scenes in her mind. The way the characters moved and the way they were dressed. She heard the voices and how funny they sounded. She loved what they built. Eve
