Noell shook her head, her back against the closed door, and studied her room—her space. She knew that Katty and Bea wouldn’t follow her and barge in on her in her private space, but maybe she wasn’t keeping them out, as much as she was trying to protect herself from what was going on down there in Gamma’s closet. No, maybe she was trying to guard against her own fears. Seeing what was possibly Gamma’s hand painting on that wall downstairs made her miss Gamma all the more.
