THE JOURNEY TO THE VILLAGE

CHAPTER FOUR

An accident occurred between two upcoming vehicles a small Mercedes car and a Kekenapepe , fortunately no life was lost, although both drivers sustained slight injury and both vehicles were slightly damaged. The fault was from the Kekenapepe driver he didn't observe carefully to see if there were upcoming vehicles before trying to cross to the other side of the road , fortunately both vehicles have no passengers . We continued our journey and few hours later arrived at the village , my mom packed her car properly and we came down from the car,shout of welcome filled the air as my aunt whom I recognize very quickly due to her striking resemblance with my mom, our grandmother, three teenagers who I got to know later that they were my aunt's children my cousins, and some neighbors ran to welcome us they were sitting outside waiting for us as my mom called to inform them that in the next 20 to30 minutes that we will arrive.

Welcome! Welcome!! welcome!!! they shouted

'Thank youuuuuu ' we replied smiling as we exchange hugs with everybody

'See my grandchildren o, all grown ups' said grandmother excitedly

'Ah very soon I will drink palmwine on behalf of my granddaughters' she said hugging my sister and I

'Look at my grandsons too ' she said hugging my brothers too

'Mama ' my mom called

'Let them finish their education first before we talk about marriage ' my mother said politely in between laughter

'But it's true o, look at my little Jennifer, now a big girl o' said aunt Modesta as hugs me

'My loves ,how are you all?' she asked hugging my cousins again

'We are fine aunt, thank uuuuu ' they replied shyly

'How is your husband?'my aunt asked

'Yes o my in-law, how is he?' grandma asked

'He is okay, he sends his regards,he will come and visit soon '

'Ah that's good he need to be praised for taking good care of my daughter and grandchildren'

Don't worry mama he will come and visit

'Junior' mom called

'Yes mom'

'Take this key, bring out all the bags in the car, your cousins should help you' she said turning to my male cousins whose names I later got to know are Samuel and Ifeanyi

'Cosmas join your brother ' she said

'Ok mom ' replied Cosmas as he joined them .

My mom hugging her sister and mother went in. My sister and I went to assist the boys

Among my mom siblings we were the second to arrive, my mom's eldest sister Aunt Modesta and her children Samuel, Ifeanyi and joy ,arrived on the 23rd and she called us when we were still in Aba to inform us my mom is the second daughter and third child , our other relatives will be back tomorrow. we chatted with our cousins,at first we were shy having met one another for the first time if not for Cosmas and Jane who were bold enough to start up a conversation, soon night apporached, we took our bath ,ate dinner and went to bed tired due to the day's journey
