THE JOURNEY TO THE VILLAGE

CHAPTER TWO

I went to drop his suitcase and prepare warm water for his bath, returned to tell him that his bathing water is ready, my siblings were talking to him about our school Christmas Carol party that is coming up soon.

'Dad your bathing water is ready ' I said

'Thank you Jewel'

'Let me go and freshing up and come down for dinner ' he said as he tried to lift Cosmas down

'wait Dad, are we really traveling for Christmas mom said we are traveling to her village ', is that true?'

'Cosy ,allow your Daddy to go and bath before pestering him with questions' mom said

'Please allow my boy talk to Dad' said Dad politely

'Yes it is true '

'Yeeeeeeeeeeeeah I can't wait' said Junior excitedly

'My dream I don't think I will be able to travel with you and the kids the same day I will come and visit before or on New year I still have lots of intensive care patients to attend to' said Dad and my mom frowned

'Pleeeeeease I promise to come and visit' he pleaded putting his two hands together towards my mom

'you promise, no excuses'

'yes I promise, cross my heart ' he said placing his right hand across his chest and closing his eyes making my siblings and I including my mom to laugh.

'Are you sure?'

'very sure, my queen'

'I think we should leave on Christmas Eve so we can celebrate the Christmas with our relations in the village, what do you think?' mom suggested.

'Its okay if you guys are okay with it' he replied putting down Cosmas and then stands up

'Hope I can go and freshing up now?' he asked stretching himself and yawns tiredly

'Yes' my siblings replied in unison

'Not yet Dad' I answered and Everyone turn to my direction as I stood akimbo

'What is it jewel?' Dad asked smiling at me

'My Christmas gift ' I demanded

'I thought as much'said mom

'Don't worry my Jewel, you are surely getting a gift from me at least for being the top in your class ' he said

'Me too ' my siblings said respectively

'Everyone is getting a gift, Including My wifey ' he said as he exit the room

'Yes o me too ' said mom excitedly as she followed him

'Thanks Dad!!'we shouted

'Thank God' he replied

'Wow I can't wait to travel ' said Jane excitedly

'Are you sure ' commented Cosmas sarcastically. Jane noticing what he wants to be chased round the room by saying that .

'You are looking for who will chase you round the whole house abi? she replied Cosmas who was busy smiling'

"Don't mind him o '' said Junior

"He wants to play"

I just stood there smiling as I listened to my siblings conversation

'Jane let's go to the kitchen' I said

'Come and help me'

I ran off to warm the food for dinner with my sister following behind.
