Damien drove into the estate and stopped right in front of the villa. His heart was still pounding in his chest as he stepped out and walked around to the backseat. Lila had finally passed out, her breathing slow and steady now.
He stared down at her for a long moment, as if unsure of what to do next. Then he reached in and carefully pulled her into his arms.
Just as he turned toward the house, the front door opened and his men stepped out. The sight of their boss carrying Lila knocked the smiles off their faces. They exchanged uneasy glances as they rushed forward.
“What happened to her, boss?” Graves asked, his voice low.
Damien didn’t answer. He simply handed Lila over to him, his jaw clenched tight.
