Chapter 3On Kit’s second night in town, he and Dillon took in an online show. The Brewster Center for the Arts in New York was putting on a virtual presentation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, featuring Catie California actress Tabor Brennington. The actress was nowhere to be seen during Act One, when she was supposed to be playing Mrs. Cratchit. When Act Two began, “What the actual f**k is happening here?” Kit asked.
Somehow, after intermission, there was Catie—er, Tabor—as Ebenezer Scrooge, instead of Bob’s wife, and she was giving a weather report and singing “White Christmas.”
“Hell if I know,” Dillon said. “Is Tiny Tim supposed to be so hot?”
Kit laughed.
Later, Dillon observed, “There’s Mrs. Cratchit, but…wait. Now, Tiny Tim’s a girl!”
