Chapter 12Jesse and Kensuke were waiting outside Summer Storm’s, the site where they’d reconnected, and now hoped to see another couple come back together. In a separate vehicle, a minivan, Milo and Tom Alan, Erika, Billy, and their young daughter, Etsuko were waiting, too, dragged into the scheme by the other two.
“How do you even know they’ll be coming this way?” Erika asked, speaking to Kensuke and Jesse on speaker via her cellphone.
“They’ll want to see them all,” Jesse said. “And when I called the hospital, they told me Z was being released around ten, so they should be here pretty soon.”
“Man, he was lucky you were there,” Erika said for at least the tenth time since finding out about Z’s attack and how Jesse found him. “Have they caught whoever assaulted him?” she asked.
