Chapter 11

1706 Words
Anitta’s POV It has been a month since I moved here. Everything was great. I had a great fiance, a beautiful house, a steady job and my sister was being sent off to a great school. Everything felt right. The life I had always wanted for myself and my sister. But it wouldn't last long. Just nine more months. Mrs. Dimitrou and Mr. Dimitrou were always great to me. They took great care of me and they treated me like their own child. Never having a parent before, their care was the best thing I could have expected from my parents. Jared and I were attending a party today. I always refused to go with him to social events just because I didn't like being around the crowded place. It always scared me off. Another reason was that I never would think that I fit in those places. The events for the rich where I was the charity case that they would always want to donate money to. The party was amazing and let me tell you the food was even better. Jared would always be on my side and told me that everything would be alright if he was there with me. It always calmed me down, his voice. One weird thing: I never trusted anyone, not even him. He always tried to have me open up to him, asking me about my past. The horrible past. I never said a word about it because I knew that the only way to forget about it was to live on. My nightmares were coming more frequently to me and every night Jared would eventually calm me down and lull me back to sleep. He knew that something was up and he was not going to keep it as silence any longer. I had no choice but to lie in front of him. I couldn't risk telling him because the man might come back and haunt me again. He would always haunt me, even though he was dead. I snapped back to reality and excused myself to go to the ladies' room. I needed to take a break. "Come back to me," Jared whispered in my ears and it always had a funny effect on me. "I will be going for a little bit. To freshen up. It won't take long." He eventually let me go but not without a peck on the lips. I went inside one of the stalls and took a deep breath knowing that there was three more hours at the party. "Did you see the brat walking with Jared Dimitrou? I seriously do not know why did he pick her to become his fiance." "I heard he would be with her for one year and then they would break up. I think I have a chance then." "Did you look at her appearance? She is ugly and short. I can't believe why he would pick someone like her. She seemed like an embarrassment to him. " Tears rolled down my face as I heard their conversation. They were right. I was an embarrassment to everyone. I was the cause of everything. Everything lash before my eyes, my mom's death, my stepdad's blame on me and my sisters' pain. I had no power to do anything and I was the cause of everything. I felt like my heart was giving out on me. I couldn't stand the pain any longer but I had to do this for a year. I would eventually had to put up with this. The pain of causing everything. Everything was my fault and I couldn't change it. I wanted to end the pain but first I had to take care of Rosie. I decided to look decent since I couldn't ruin this party. This party was important to Jared and I couldn't just ruin it. When I stepped out of the ladies' room, I saw an old man looking tentatively at me. He loooked...he looked like me? The same eyes and the same lips. No it can't be. Momma said that he was dead. I turned around and walked away. Suddenly, the man came up and stopped me in my tracks. "Hi miss, can I ask what your name is? My name is Alexander Romanov." "Hi..hi sir. My name is Anitta Raynott." "Ms. Raynott, who did you come here with?" "I ... I came here with..." A hand pulled me to his side and I realized who it was. "She came here with me. Dimitrou," he gave out his hand for the man to shake. "Romanov," they shook hands. "Well, Ms. Raynott, nice to meet you. Would you mind if I have a private conversation with you without your ... husband?" "No," Jared quickly said. "Yes, please Jared. Just let me talk to the man." "No," Jared looked at me and I gave him the puppy eyes. I knew that would always worked on him. "Okay fine but I will wait here." He gave me another peck on the lips and went away. He was always protective of me like I was his own fiance but I knew that would never happen. "This way Ms. Raynott. Please have a seat." As I took a seat, I took a closer look at the man. Although he was old, he still was very handsome. "Anitta, I have a question. Who was your mom?" He hit me right in the target. I never wanted to talk about her. What was today? Torturing Anitta day? Seriously. "Who are you, Mr. Romanov?" "I am a very dangerous man Anitta and I belong in the mafia or should I say one of the biggest mafia gang in the whole world. Now tell me who was your mom or where is she?" "She...she is dead. She was Jane Raynott." "She was killed in your house was I right?" Tears started to stream down my cheeks as he said this. The man seemed so cold, impassive but there was something in his eyes that I quite couldn't catch. That's right. It was sadness. It was sdness all this time. Was he really? Really my father? "Yes, I remember her. A fiesty one. I didn't know she was giving birth to my child when she left me. And if your predictions are correct, I am your father, Anitta Raynott. Your birth certificate was not Anitta Raynott. It was Anitta Mae Raynott Romanov. I an the owner of a mafia gang and your mom at the time was scared of me but eventually I convinced her to stay until she was kinapped by another gang. By the time she was shot, your so called stepfather was the kidnapper making you believe that he was your stepdad." "I don't believe you. My mom wouldn't be involve with any gang members." "Oh no she didn't involve in anything. She was married to me." The ring. The ring he was wearing. My mom had the exact same ring and I took out the ring I was wearing around my neck. It was too painful to remember her. "She was a pretty and fiesty one. She had you first but you were too young to remember me. They took you and her away from me. I was weak and blinded by love since then. I loved your mother and would always love her. I never moved on. She was the only light in my life." "Daddy..." "Say that again please, Anitta." "Daddy, why? Why did they do this to her?" Tears were streaming down my cheeks and to be honest I didn't care what would happen to my make up right now. All I care was that my father was sitting in front of me. "I don't know honey. I eventually killed off the man and his entire gang. I was brutal but I am here to protect you now. I tracked down on you and I knew that you would come to this party. I came here to see you." "Daddy, did you know that you have another daughter too?" "What? She gave birth to another? She was pregnant with my child then?" I nodded my head to painful to say anything. Rosie was not healthy and I needed him to know that. "Her name is Rosie May Raynott. Mom died giving birth to her. The doctors did everything they could but with the gun shots and she was losing to much blood, they couldn't save her. Rosie doesn't know. All she knew that mom left us and would never come back again." I cried hugging my dad. "Oh honey. I am so sorry." Tears were streaming down his cheeks too as he felt sorry for Rosie for losing her mother so young. As time passed and we both calmed down. Daddy asked me why I was with Jared Dimitrou. I couldn't tell him about our agreement that we - me and Rosie - needed money for her surgery and to be able to support her. "Honey, Jared Dimitrou is a dangerous man. You should be careful around him. We can catch up on another day. If you ever need anything or need help, please call me. I will always be there for my two beautiful girls. You remind me of her. Her smiles. I need to meet Rosie. Is she staying with you?" "Yes dad, we both are staying with Jared." "Be careful around him Anitta. He is a very dangerous man." "I will daddy." "Come on let's head out." As I stepped out, I saw that Jared was waiting for me. How long have I been gone? I looked at the clock and realized that it was an hour later. "Mr. Romanov, may I ask what you were talking to with my fiance?" "You should ask your fiance, Dimitrou. I will be paying a visit to your house very soon. I have to go for now. Call me when you need me, Anitta. I love you." "I love you too," I said and hugged him. Right then I heard a growl and I realized that I was standing next to a very angry Jared. I might have to tell him a long story about my past then.
