I saw granny sitting outside but mum is saying she is dead, I said. My two brothers looked at me with agape. It might be your imagination, granny died this afternoon, my immediate junior brother "Kingsley" said. Come let me show you, My second brother "Dennis" added. I followed Dennis up the stairs to my granny's room, a corpse was on the bed covered with with a white cloth. I walked to the bed and pulled the cloth from the corpse face, there was my grandmother laid lifeless on the bed. But I saw granny sitting outside looking stronger, I said. It was your imagination, Dennis replied and covered the corpse back. I saw it, I replied and tears gathered in my eyes. I turned to leave the room and my granny was leaning on the wall staring at her body on the bed. Look Dennis, I yelled and pointed at our granny. Why are you pointing at the wall, are you really alright cus you look crazy, Dennis said. Look at granny there, I said and shifted back. Its the wall, Dennis replied. The look on Dennis face showed astonishment. I opened the door and ran out of the room in alarm, I ran to my room entered it and locked my door. Console your mother Blair and be strong. Be very strong, You are the clairvoyant and they will come for you. Your blood is the star key, a loud voice said. I turned and my granny was sitting on my reading chair looking at me, I looked at her eyes and they were pure white without an iris. I let out a piercing scream and some minutes later, they were knocks on my door. I opened the door shivering and my mum and brothers walked into the room. What's really your problem? Don't you know you are the eldest in this house? My mother screamed at me. Am sorry mum, I said. You better be, my mum said and stormed out of the room. I looked at the chair, my granny ghost had disappeared. Did you see granny again? Kingsley asked. Yes, I replied. Trust me, it's imagination and after sometimes you will forget her, Kingsley said. I nodded and hugged my brothers and dismissed them from my room. I couldn't understand what was wrong with me. Uncountable times, I had seen and talked to people and at the end of the day, I realized that others couldn't see the person and people always thought I was crazy but I knew I wasn't and I couldn't fathom what was really my problem. By 4;45pm, I was set for the party. I wore a black jeans with a red polo, a red cover shoe and red handbag to match with a light make-up. I looked at myself in the mirror for the tenth time and smiled at my reflection. I went down the stairs and my mum was in the sitting room watching zeeworld with my brothers. Am going for departmental night mum, I said. Take care of yourself sweedy and make sure you don't go out alone with a guy, mum said. Ok mum, Blair doesn't have time for guys anywhere, I replied and shook my waist out of the house. I took a taxi to Frankie's off campus resident. Frankie was busy applying makeup when I entered the stuffy room. I didn't bother greeting, I slumped on her bed and brought out my infinix and logged into w******p. Frankie is a girl that could spend hours dressing up and hated disturbances when making up. So how do I look girl? Frankie finally asked. I checked the time and sigh. But you said we will leave by 5pm, this is pass 6pm, I said ignoring her question. Relax girl, the bus won't leave until 8pm, Frankie replied. We are going by bus? I asked. Yes. So how do I look? Frankie asked. Like a witch. Have told you to stop doing heavy make-up, I replied without looking up. Shut up jealousy. Let's get going, Frankie said and s*****d my butt. I offed my data and looked at Frankie, she was looking take away with her short sleeveless pink gown and black scandal heel with a pink bag and a weaving wick. I grinned and got down from the bed. We left the house and trekked a short distance to the school gate, they was a mini bus parked beside the fence and two men dressed in all black stood beside the buses. Some scantily dressed young ladies were chattering and entering into the buses. There, Frankie said and held my hand and we crossed to the buses. I felt my impulse raise as I wanted to get into the bus. I ignored the impulse and climbed into the bus and Frankie joined. At dot 8pm, the bus started, the two men in black entered a Ford and followed behind us. The girls chattered excitedly about the party. One of them talked about a rich party she attended that people used wine to wash their hands. After like an hour drive, the bus turned into an bushy road and continued driving. Its drove deeper and deeper and parked in front of a storey building. The two men got down from the car and one of them opened the bus door in a commando fashion. We were made to stand in a straight line and walk into the building. We entered the magnificent sitting room where soft music was playing and many richly dressed men were sitting on the sofa holding glasses of wine and laughing loudly. We were made to sit on the spare sofa. I hardly sat when a terrible and foul smell hit my nose, I knew that smell, it was the smell of death. The smell remembered me of a colleague of mine that died in a car crash some days back. I remembered talking to my colleague the day before her death and she told me she was travelling home and begged me to enlist her name in the attendance list. The smell had been all over her body and I had merely taken it to be body odour and knowing it would be rude to tell her she stinks, I kept mute and promised to write her name and the next day, news of her death broke out in school. It was also the same smell I perceived on my granny when she was bedridden. The smell of death was all over the house. I feel someone is going to die, I whispered to Frankie. What!!! And it will be you. Watch your utterances, Frankie mimicked. Can't you perceive the foul odour? Its called smell of death and its not body odour. I have perceived it on two people and they both died, I said. Which foul odour? The room is smelling sweetly and the men's Cologne increases the fragrance, Frankie replied. OK, am kidding, I replied and resisted the urge to hold my nose. Is it not you again? The Blair i know must always act wired and crazy, Frankie replied. You didn't tell me that its gonna be a house party, I said changing the topic. But now you know, Frankie replied. Glasses were brought and red wine was distributed. The MC announced a toast and the girls gulped their wine laughing. The smell of death in the room was suffocating me and I knew if I drink the wine, I might throw up. I pretended to cough and emptied my wine into the sofa foam. The music volume was increased and the men didn't waste time grabbing the ladies and dragging them to the dance floor. Can we dance? A pot belly man said and stretched his right hand to me. I didn't want to but all the girls were dancing and I didn't wanna look stupid. I held his hand and allowed him to drag me to the dance floor. I noticed that within a minute of dancing the girls became tired and were taken away by the men. A man in all black held the door and locked it. NEXT EPISODE LOADING..
