I got home early with the intention of going straight to bed but I’d forgotten mum would still be home since she had the night shift. So yeah I had to come up with a lie on my feet when I saw her.
“Baby, you’re back home early? Are you okay?” She asked in that sweet voice of hers that could melt hearts and ice.
“I’m okay mama, I just have a really terrible headache.” I replied in the most quiet whisper I could mutter.
“Oh baby, do you need water or juice so you can take some aspirin?”
“It’s fine mum, I already had some in school. I just need to rest” I make my way to the stairs so I can go up to my room before my mom’s voice stops me again.
