Stopped by the door

812 Words
Once we make our way to the car I grab the handle for the back door when Noah stops me by grabbing my hand and causing my cheeks to burn red “you’re in the front Goldie” looking past him I see his new fling seething with uncontrollable anger “but Noah..” she starts and he shakes his head “your house is closest and I’m not a taxi driver. No one sits in the back while I’m in front” he says giving her a pointed look. Great just bloody great, if she didn’t already hate me earlier she most definitely does now which was confirmed when she started kicking the back of my seat the whole way to her house. Bloody childish if you ask me, I was more than happy to sit in the back I grumble in my thoughts. Once she’s out of the car Noah doesn’t even stick around for her to tell him how much of an ‘amazing’ time she’s had before he drives off. “You know you could be less rude to people?” I say while staring at him which causes him to raise an eyebrow “and how am I being rude Goldie?” My eye roll could be seen from outter space I’m sure of it “you didn’t even say goodbye to her, you just left. “ I won’t be seeing her anymore, so what’s the problem?” He states matter of factly. “Why not you seemed pretty happy with her this morning” I grumble out lowly to which he laughs “do you think I’m blind?” With amusement in his tone which causes me to blush. Oh god don’t tell me he knows I was jealous this morning “I saw her kicking your seat Goldie.. you’re a real pain in my ass but you’re also Trish’s best friend” the embarrassment just keeps getting worst for me ‘Trish’s best friend’ is all he’ll ever think of me. Once he pulls into the driveway I barely am able to take my seat belt off before legging it out of his car, I must’ve slammed his door harder than I thought because I hear a loud bang as I’m racing up my driveway only to be pulled by something. No not something someone, before I can register I’m pinned against my front door “wanna tell me what this is about?” He says while leaning down to look at me. I can see the specks of gold in his eyes barely due to the porch light being on and oh my lord am I in trouble. I fight the urge to run my hand through his hair and my mouth goes absolutely dry. “Well are you going to just stand there and gawk at me or are you going to say something?” He lifts his eyebrow and uses a cocky tone “I don’t.. I don’t know what you’re talking about” I stammer out. Noah leans down even further so our faces are even closer together and I swear my breath hitches. All that goes through my mind is HE’S GOING TO FREAKING KISS ME AND I’M ALL HERE FOR IT! Before he can even accomplish the task the door handle rattles behind me and I’m sent backwards as Noah straightens up “oh Noah what a surprise” my mothers gleeful voice rings out from behind me which causes me to groan. Great just great. She always has the best god damn timing, I swear she has some kind of sensor for when her daughter is about to get a move made on her. “Good evening Mrs West, I wanted to drop Nora home because it was so late tonight” my mother just looks at me and my now scarlet read cheeks before looking back at Noah “oh of course sweetie, thank you so much as always. You know I’m always grateful that she has both you and Trish” the statement alone causes Noah to cough nervously before he turns to leave and immediately I run up the stairs dying of absolute embarrassment. I nearly had my first god damn kiss and with NOAH of all people and my mother had to ruin it. After finally making my way upstairs I fling open my door and faceplant into my pillows grumbling. *Ting!* My phone goes off causing me to pull it out of my pocket and there’s only one message that pops up. I stare at it for a moment and I realize it’s from Noah… ‘I won’t tell if you won’t ’ Is all it says and I swear if I thought I wasn’t going to get any sleep earlier than I most definitely am not going to get any sleep anymore.
