DL 8: Too Sweet?

Zion POV

Pasensya na, kung papatulugin na muna

Ang pusong napagod kakahintay

Kaya sa natitirang segundong kayakap ka

Maaari bang magkunwaring akin ka pa

Rinig ko ang napakagandang tinig. I can feel that this voice is waking me up from a deep sleep. It sounds like a siren. I looked in front and I saw Vile singing on stage.

What is he doing here? What happened? Naguguluhan ako sa mga nangyayari.

Mangangarap hanggang sa pagbalik

Mangangarap pa rin kahit masakit

I can feel Vile's emotions while he is singing. He's a slugger. His voice sounds like an angel.

Baka sakaling makita kitang muli

Pagsikat ng araw, paglipas ng gabi

Kung di pipilitin ang di pa para sa'kin

Baka sakaling maibalik

Malaya ka na, Malaya

Naramdaman ko na may humawak sa balikat ko. I didn't react because I'm more focus in hearing Vile's voice.

"Tumatayo ang mga balahibo ko. I never know that Vile has a voice like this," Jester said.

Isusuko na ang sandata aatras na sa laban

Di dahil naduduwag kundi dahil mahal kita

Mahirap nang labanan mga espada ng orasan

Kung pipilitin pa, lalo lang masasaktan

Mangangarap hanggang sa pagbalik

Mangangarap pa rin kahit masakit

Baka sakaling makita kitang muli

Nagpalakpakan ang mga tao sa paligid. I didn't know exactly what happened. All I remember is we are here at the mall.

They are so amazed with Vile's voice. It sounds like a siren and it can melt a frozen heart. Ramdam ko ang emotions niya.

"Yes! Natauhan na sila Zion! Good job Vile!" Sandra said.

Vile went down from the stage. Everyone are clapping their hands. He is walking towards us.

I don't know how to say it but he looks like an angel while he is walking towards us. I don't know how to explain this thing.

"You're such a great singer, Vile!" Sandra said.

"T-thanks..." He said.

He looks so shy...

"Vile, we don't know that you have that kind of voice. Grabe, tumayo ang mga balahibo ko habang kumakanta ka," Dexter said.

Vile bit his lip. He looks so shy and flattered.

"I don't know exactly what happened. Can someone please explain it to me?" I asked.

"Ok... June used her voice to cast a spell. She hypnotized all guys in here. As a counter spell, Vile sing to wake you up from June's spell, ok?" Sandra said.

"So, if all guys was hypnotized by June's voice, then why Vile is not affected by June's spell?" I asked.

"Because he's a healer. He has pure heart and he is immune to a siren," Rex said.

Yeah... Now I understand. Lahat naman ng healer ay pure hearted that's why Vile is not affected by a siren. It's pretty amazing.

"So, where's June?" Vile asked.

"Come on... we need to catch her. She's fighting Wanda at the park," Sandra said.

Tumakbo na kaming lahat. We ran into the nearest park. We can't teleport here like Wanda did because all people are staring on us.

Pagdating namin sa park ay walang ibang tao maliban kay Wanda.

"Hey! Where's June?" I asked.

Ngumuso na lang siya sa isang bench. She tied up June.

"Oh... Mukha yatang hindi mo kaya si Wanda," Jared said to June.

"Of course! I'm an S class sorcerer," Wanda said.

"Z-Zion... Please help me," June said.

It looks like she is about to cry. I shouldn't pity her. She's an enemy.

"Please Zion..."

"No! We need to take you in Kreterra for your punishment!" I said firmly.

"I hate you Zion! I hate all of you! Pagbabayaran niyo 'to!" She shouted.

"I think we should remove that ropes. Namumula na ang wrists niya. Kawawa naman si June," Vile said.

"Vile! You shouldn't pity an enemy! Baka mamaya kung anong gawin niyan sa atin!" Wanda said.

"But she looks harmless and powerless," Vile said sincerely.

I hate to say this but Vile is too kind. Mukha na siyang tanga. Masyado siyang maawain. So, it's an advantage that I don't have a pure heart.

"So, you are the new healer hahahah. You're adorable and kind. You also look dumb and weak," June said to Vile.

Vile bit his lip and he shut his mouth.

"Take her to Kreterra!" Sandra said.

"You can't do that ahahahhaha..."

June is just laughing at us. Is she insane?

"Hear my voice again..." June said.

Every night I rush to my bed

With hopes that maybe I'll get a chance to see you when I close my eyes

What's this? I felt so weak. Her voice is making me sleepy. I looked at my friends and they are also affected by June's spell.

Unti-unting natatanggal ang mga tali kay June at nakawala na siya.

We can't stand up. I felt so weak and I can't fight. Nanghihina na kaming lahat at inaantok dahil sa boses ni June. Her voice is enchanted.

I looked at Vile and he is not affected by June's voice. He is the only one who can stand up while all of us is laying here in the ground.

"V-Vile... Stop her," I said weakly.

"But I don't know how to fight," he said.

"J-just stop her from singing," I said.

"Ok, I'll try..."

Vile got the rope and he is swinging it like a whip. He twisted the rope on June's neck.

"I'm sorry lady... I don't intent to hurt you," Vile said nervously.

June was strangled by a rope so she stopped from singing. Unti-unting bumabalik ang lakas namin. It looks like her spell is fading away.

Inalalayan ko na ang iba na makatayo.

"Humanda ka sa akin. Bubusalsalan ko 'yang bibig mo!" Galit na sabi ni Wanda.

"No you can't!" June shouted.

Suddenly, June yelled so hard. Napatakip kaming lahat sa mga tenga namin. Nakakabingi ang boses niya.

It sounds like the highest wistle tone that I've ever heard.

Pati si Vile ay natablan na sa boses ni June kaya nabitawan niya ang lubid.

After a few seconds, June stopped from releasing sonic waves and she transformed into a crow. She flew fast away from us. Lahat kami ay nakahawak pa sa tenga namin.

I hate this kind of trick. I feel like my ears are bleeding. Ok naman 'yung iba. Mas sensitive kasi ang pandinig ko kasi mas malakas ang senses ko kaysa sa kanila.

"I'm sorry... Hindi ko kinaya ang boses niya. It hurts my ears so much," Vile said.

"Don't worry... Mahuhuli pa natin siya next time," Wanda said.

"Yeah and what's important is we already know what she can do," Jared said.

Lumapit naman agad sa akin si Vile. He looks so worried about me.

"Are you ok Zion?" He asked.

"Yeah, but my ears still hurts so much," I said.

"Your ears are bleeding! Wait! I should heal you," he said nervously.

He is holding my ears using his two hands. He closed his eyes.

I can feel warmth from his hands. It's making me feel comfortable. After a few seconds, my ears back to normal.

"Feel better?" He asked.

I nodded...

"Thanks..."

"No worries," he said and then he smiled at me.

"Ok, tama na ang ka-sweetan niyo diyan. I'm hungry!" Rex said.

"Wala na akong gana gumala sa mall," Jared said.

"Me too!" Jester said.

"Ok... Sa bahay na lang tayo kumain," I said.

"Really? Well thanks!" Dexter said.

"I didn't know that you can cook now," Sandra said and she laughed hard.

I hate this seer! Siguro nakita na naman niya sa mga mata niya na nakasunog ako ng kawali dahil lang sa pagpiprito ng itlog.

"Ok, what do you want to eat for dinner?" I asked.

"Ok na ang pasta," Wanda said.

"Yeah, I want spaghetti," Rex said.

"Zion, you know, you should cook for us. I believe that you're a good cook because you are really independent person," Jared said.

I forced myself to smile. How should I get out of this?

Hindi naman ako pwedeng humingi ng tulong kay Vile at nahihiya ako. He's giving too much help to me.

I think I should cook for them. Wala naman sigurong masama na mangyayari.

Wala naman akong magagawa. My house is nearby so sa amin talaga ang punta nila.

"Hmmm... Zion, ikaw ano ang gusto mong kainin for dinner?" Vile asked.

Wait, he is really prioritizing everything that I want? Too sweet... Naiilang na naman ako. I'm still adjusting with his attitude. Hindi kasi ako sanay na palaging tinatanong ang gusto ko.

"Hmmm... I want barbecue," I said.

"Ok... Then I'll cook barbecue for you and you'll cook spaghetti for them," he said while smiling.

I looked at Sandra. She is just staring at me and Vile. What's this? Parang may ibig sabihin ang mga titig ni Sandra. Nakangiti pa siya.

We went to a grocery to buy the ingredients. After a few minutes, we arrived to my house.

"Ngayon na lang pala ulit tayo nakabisita dito sa bahay ni Zion," Dexter said.

"Your house is too big," Jared said.

Pumasok na kami sa loob. They are just looking at my house. Vile and I went to the kitchen to start cooking.

"Wow! Ngayon ko lang nakitang malinis ang bahay mo," sabi ni Sandra.

Well, palagi kasi siyang bumibisita dito... Si Vile kasi, laging naglilinis akala mo katulong siya eh hindi naman.

Sa totoo lang, malaking tulong na nandito si Vile dahil feeling ko tuloy may nag-aalaga sa akin.

Aaarrggghhh! It sounds gay!

He is cooking barbecue while I am cooking spaghetti. Sana lang talaga hindi ako pumalpak.

"Hmmmm... Vile," I said.

"Huh?"

"Never mind..."

May instructions naman sa packaging ng pasta. I can do this! I shouldn't ask for Vile's help.

"Hmmm... Didikit 'yan sa kaldero. Put a little bit of oil while you're boiling the pasta. If you need to ask something, I'm here," Vile said and he smiled at me.

"Thanks, I can handle this," I said seriously.

Ok, I put a little bit of oil in this boiling water. It's not that hard.

I cooked the sauce and it's appropriate for my taste. It taste ok for me. Magugustuhan na nila 'to.

After a few minutes, I'm done cooking. Vile is preparing the table for us.

"Yes, mukha yatang masarap ang niluto mo Zion," Sandra said.

Nag-pray muna kaming lahat at kumuha na kami ng pagkain.

"Ang sarap!"

Nagulat tuloy kami. Sandra just shouted. I think she likes my spaghetti.

"Ng barbecue..." Sandra said.

I rolled my eyes. Medyo nag-assume ako ng kaunti.

"Hmmm... How should I say na hindi masarap ang luto ni Zion ng hindi siya nao-offend?"

I looked at Jared and Rex. They are murmuring... I didn't hear them because they speak to quiet like a mouth gesture.

"Ang sarap nga-" Wanda said.

I looked at her. Mukhang nagustuhan niya ang luto ko.

"Ng barbecue," Wanda said while laughing.

"Yeah... Vile is a great cook," Jester said.

"Thanks..."

I looked at them. They are not eating my spaghetti.

"Ehem! How's my spaghetti? How does it taste?" I asked.

"Hmmm... Medyo maalat yata ang nabili mong asin," sabi ni Rex sabay tawa.

Nagtawanan silang lahat. It taste ok for me.

"Yeah... Mukha ring masyadong maanghang ang nabili mong paminta," Wanda said and then she laughed hard.

I rolled my eyes. Ok, I accept it. I'm not a good cook. Sumama tuloy ang loob ko. I tasted Vile's barbecue and with no doubt, it taste the best.

"Actually, I love Zion's spaghetti..."

We looked at Vile and he is eating my spaghetti. Mukha ngang nagustuhan niya.

"Are you alright Vile?" Wanda asked.

"Yeah... Your barbecue tastes good but you like Zion's spaghetti? You seem to have rare taste buds," Dexter said while laughing.

"Hmmm... It taste good for me. Zion put too much effort while cooking. I love this spaghetti because Zion cooked it for me; for us. I value his effort," Vile said while smiling.

Siya lang ang kumakain ng niluto ko. I bit my lip. He's too sweet and sincere. Nagtinginan sila sa amin ni Vile. Parang may iba sa mga titig nila.

"Ehem! Ang sweet!" Sandra said.

"Huh?" Vile asked innocently.

"I said the barbecue is sweet and delicious," Sandra said and then she laughed hard.

After our dinner, Vile is washing the dishes.

Nakatingin na sa akin ang mga kaibigan ko.

"Hey what's the matter?" I asked.

"Hmmm... Vile is too sweet towards you. Is he gay?" Jared asked.

"Yeah... We think he likes you," Wanda said.

"Please don't think of that. He is just a kind person. It's his nature. Mabait lang talaga siya ok? At malisyoso lang kayo," sabi ko.

"Really?" Sandra asked while raising her eyebrow.

Ano na naman kaya ang nakikita ng seer na ito?

"Please stop being too malicious. Vile is just kind and caring. He's a healer right? Please don't think of something else," I said firmly.

They shut their mouths. I know that Vile is just a kind person. Kanina nga naawa pa siya kay June.

Honestly, naiilang pa rin ako sa kanya. Hindi kasi ako sanay na may taong sweet sa akin. I know that my friends are thinking of something else.

I know that Vile's not gay... He doesn't like me. He's just kind and loving person.
