Once we were abroad, Jude had a custom prosthetic made for me right away and put me in the best rehab hospital. My days were nothing but eating, sleeping, rehab, getting used to the prosthetic, and Jude wheeling me around to clear my head. Neither of us figured Nash would track us down so fast. Jude wouldn't let him near me and had people on me around the clock. Nash knelt at the hospital entrance, rain or shine. I didn't feel a thing for him anymore. One day, while I was training in the rehab room, Jude grabbed Nash and dragged him out front. Through the narrow window in the door, Nash watched me practice walking on the prosthetic. I was drenched in sweat from the pain, but I didn't make a sound—just kept at it, quiet. His tears hit the floor as he choked back a sob. Jude let go of him
