Here are another two documents from that time. They are a kind of ultimatum from the IMU, which was never actually made public, but indicates the way in which Juma Namangani and those around him were thinking:
Demand:
1. Leave Tajikistan.
2. All demands to be accepted only in written form.
3. Listen carefully to all their demands or advice.
4. We only carry out orders or any instructions from top officials.
5. There can be no mention of withdrawing to Afghanistan.
Demand:
1. Anyone who wishes to negotiate can negotiate with the Amir.
2. Let us go to Uzbekisan – when we wish and by the route we wish.
3. Give us time until summer. Let them open the passes,
