Chapter Fifty
I have said several times that there are events in Yosir’s life that only I know about. I thought for a long time about whether I should tell you what I am about to tell you now, and I can say quite honestly that I am signing off this chapter when everything else in the book has already been written and has even settled into place to some extent. I was worried for a long time by one particular phrase that Zubair let slip as if by accident in one of the letters that were brought to me from Afghanistan. In the middle of a string of flowery phrases, he suddenly mentions, entirely out of the blue, that they all watched the film Nido which he and Yosir had made together, “at the Sheikh’s place”.
