Jackson's POV.

I am a detective that needs to catch the murderer of my father and Uncle Bennett. Even though I left our house before College. My father still have contact with me. I remember when I accompany Dad in Mr. Fredly's mansion. here in Connecticut. My girlfriend, Eunice, got injured in that party.

I really feel that there is something strange going on from Uncle Bennett's death, the investigator who talked to my father, and .....Melody.

When I was about to arrive in my Dad's funeral. I saw Melody inside a Café with a guy who hugged her before she left. I knew that Melody is an only child of Uncle Bennett. I already know that she is my brother's fiancée so there is no way that she will hug someone else.

Awhile ago, Miko gave me a call to inform me about his findings from Angelo's statements. Mr. Fredly is accusing me as the murderer of my own father.

That's insane!

Why will I kill my own father? Yeah, my father is so strict toward me when I was still living with him. Though I never have a thought of killing him. I left our house so I can work as a detective specializing in solving murder cases.

I am now alone in front of my father's coffin then I suddenly received a call from unknown number.

"Jackson, it's me" someone said on the other line that get me goosebumps.

"Uncle Bennett!?" I shout to confirm what I am hearing.

Suddenly, silence occupied the other line. Then I heard someone bump into something. Until the call got disconnected.

I called Miko to trace the call I received. Good thing he is working overnight to review all the possible hint in the case we are jointly investigating. After an hour, I found out the location is in New York. To be specific in Uncle Bennett's house in New York.

6 a.m.

I wait Angelo to arrive in our father's funeral room before I travel to New York.

I need to confirm if he is the one who called me at around 2 a.m.

When I finally arrived in Uncle Bennett's house. I notice the strange ambience around the house. There is someone watching me. I prepare myself for whoever that will attack me.

I successfully get inside the house where I see the broken mirror, broken wood table and many clutter on the floor.

I need to reach the master bedroom. I believe there is some hint that I can find there.

"What is it?" I asked myself in shock when I found the land title of Uncle Bennett's island in Connecticut on the table beside the bed.

Suddenly, there are policemen who get to the master's bedroom at the time I pick up the land title.

There was a report that Uncle Bennett's house is trespassed by a thief.

Seems the one behind the misfortunes' going through by our family is trying hard to frame me up too.

At the precinct,

"Chief, we apologize for what happened to Detective Howard" said by one of police officers who detained me as a thief.

My superior called them after I reported that I was caught as a thief. I was released after they received my superiors' call.

I gave Miko a call to inform him what happened.

"So you are the next real target, bro." Miko said in a serious tone.

"Yes, that is confirmed now. I am thinking of who is really the man behind this mess that we are solving." I cannot help myself to shook my head out of disappointment.

"We will soon solve this case bro. For now, you need to get back here in Connecticut. Eunice woke up and looking for you." Miko said happily.

"Thanks, bro. Yeah I will travel now to see Eunice." I said then hang up the phone.

After few hours......

"Jackson!" Eunice called me while I am walking toward her bed.

I kiss her cheeks and hug her.

"I am glad you woke up, babe." I said to her that made her smile.

I help her to eat fruits first, then she start to talk about the incident that cause her injury at Mr. Fredly's party.

"I was going to the washroom when I heard Uncle Henry is in argument with Mr. Bennett. I did not hear what they are argumenting about. They are inside a room so I was having hard time to really hear everything they were saying. But I know there is someone else inside that room.

Then there is someone who grabbed me from behind while preventing me to shout. I get inside another room and someone push me out of a window. That's all I remember before I woke up." Eunice said while having tears.

I calm her down by hugging her.

"Do you remember anything about the other person whose with Uncle Bennett and Dad in that room?" I asked that made Eunice think for awhile.

"He was wearing a silver necklace with a skull pendant. It caught my attention because he is sitting facing the door" Eunice said while looking at me straight in the eye.

That's all she can remember. So I gave a call to Miko to find out anything related with a silver necklace with a skull pendant. I know that necklace is somehow related with a gang symbol in Connecticut.

I stayed few more hours in the hospital until Eunice's parents arrived. So I bid goodbye to go back in Dad's funeral.

"Jackson, where have you been?" Angelo asked upon seeing me.

"I visited Eunice, my girlfriend, she woke up today." I answered him.

"I cannot tell to you bro about the findings in the murder case to protect you until we catch the real criminal." I want to say this to my brother. But for his safety I will not tell him for now.

He smiled and offered me to drink. We went inside the funeral house.

"We will bury Dad on Saturday." Angelo said while staring at the coffin. I nod in response.

"I hope the real murderer will be catch. I can feel Melody is hiding something. She might be worried, thinking that the criminal is still out. And she is the next target after Dad's death." Angelo added.

I know he is too tired of everything. Me too. But we should be strong at this times. I pat his shoulder, "I am always here bro. I will not let you be in danger." I assured Angelo that made him smile.
