"His Death"

We received a report that there was a suspicious man lurking around outside the Welles Village. We go there right away only to find a house at the very end of the village that has many people gathered outside.

"I heard the commotion inside of the house and Mr. Bennett's loud scream" said by the old lady who introduced herself as a friend of the said house owner.

We enter the house to investigate.

We only found an old man's dead body lying down on the floor. His body is covered by blood. Also on the wall near him, it has blood written threat "Your daughter is next!"

I look on the dead man's face again. I think I know him then suddenly, I remember my fiancée's father.

We took the dead body. I called Melody. She visit her aunt living in New York and stay there for about a week now. Upon hearing my bad news she rush back here in Connecticut.

" Angelo, who is the murderer? What is the reason of my father's death?" asked by Melody while still crying. We are inside my car going to the funeral.

"We only found a wrist watch possibly owned by the murderer. That is tightly hold by your father in his right hand. We are already checking if there are fingerprints left on the watch. We will know the results soon" I answered while hugging her. She continues crying until we reach her father's funeral.

I am sitting next to Melody when a man approach us to say, "I'm sorry for your loss, Melody."

Melody look at him and nod after she recognized the man. He smiled then look at me. Then he went to the other side of the room.

"He is a friend of my father and Uncle Henry" Melody said when she saw me looking at the man. She is referring to my father, Henry Howard.

"Oh, I don't know him." I said as I looked back to my fiancée that still has tears in her eyes.

I don't know much about my father. He lives in New York. I left our house after I turned 18 year old. Melody knows about our fathers' friends because she lives with her parents.

Few hours passed, I asked Melody to go out to eat lunch. She nodded.

While we were inside the restaurant she received a call. Afterwards, she looks angrily at me.

"Why? Why Uncle Henry killed my father?!" she continuously shouting while hitting my chest and crying.

I got shocked and left out of words. Suddenly, I received a message from our station saying my father is the owner of the wrist watch that Uncle Bennett was holding when he died.

"Melody, I don't know what is going on. Please let me find out what exactly happened. I promised that I will explain it to you later." I am trying to pacify her but she keeps hitting my chest.

Few minutes passed when a guy came near to Melody and grab her arm.

"Melody, let's go!" he shouted then bring my fiancée out of the restaurant.

I was left in our table still standing and totally shock. I know that my father is not really a good person. He has a bad temper but I don't think he can kill Uncle Bennett. I gather my thoughts and decided to go to our district station.

"Where is my father?" I asked one of my co-policeman.

He told me that my father is inside the investigation room.

At the partition room I can see my father behind the glass wall. I can clearly hear what he is explaining.

"I went in George Bennett's house because I received a text message threatening me to come over. If I will not go there, the person who texted me will kill George. Unfortunately, when I get to his house, he is already lying down on the floor. No one else is there" my father explained while a bit crying.

"Why your wrist watch is in Mr. Bennett's hand?" asked firmly by the investigator.

"I tried to ask him who did that to him. Then I noticed that my lost wrist watch is in his palm. That watch was missing since last week after I went to Michael Fredly's party" answered by my father which caused the investigator to smirk.

"What a lame excuse Mr. Howard" he shook his head while smiling.

"Come on, I am not telling excuses. That is really what happened!" shout by my father out of anger.

The investigator did not respond and just left the room.

It has been 2 days since my father is kept in the prison. Suddenly, I received a news that my father was poisoned and now is in a coma. He was brought in a hospital. The case is stop while waiting for him to recover.

I am right now inside my apartment.

"Hello, please come here in my place Angelo. I think there is someone who is following me from Dad's funeral. I cannot contact anyone else aside from you.

I am afraid right now."

Melody called me. I can hear she is really afraid.

I did not think twice. I rushed to her place. On the way, I met an accident. There was a car in front of me who keeps flashing his tail lights that totally makes me blind. I cannot see what is in front that caused my car to bump in that vehicle.

I woke up lying in a hospital bedroom. I knew that Melody was attacked by someone who also left a threat on the wall written by blood saying "You're next!"

Fortunately, Melody's aunt and uncle visited her that night. They saw a man who is wearing a jacket with hood and denim pants. Melody's uncle got into a fight against that attacker. At the end, the old man was injured and the attacker escaped.

Due to what happened, the case continues. It only means that my father is not the murderer and Melody should be put under Police protection. As the murderer has not yet been caught.

In the afternoon, Melody visited me in my hospital bedroom.

"Angelo, now that we know Uncle Henry is not the murderer. I am sorry for what I did to you" Melody told me with tears in her eyes.

"No, don't cry. Let's forget that." I answered her to calm her down.

She told me that she will stay with me for awhile.
