Hot.
It was so hot. Stiflingly so. My lungs were finding it hard to take in the thick, warm air.
Tingling warmth spread across my skin, racing through my body and jump starting my heart until its beat could put a horse’s gallop to shame. My mind was clouded and fuzzy, unsure of the world around me. It was as if I’d been asleep for centuries and was only now beginning to awaken.
“Such a response for so slight a touch.” The deep growl was enough to startle me the rest of the way from the darkness I seemed to have been trapped in. My eyes shot open, blinking heavily in the bright sunlight that streamed into my iris’s. Something was different, off in some way that I was finding it hard to understand.
“Moan for me, the way you do for only me.” There was that deep voice again, dripping with command and lust. My gaze flickered around, attempting to bring the murky world around me into focus.
I was laying on the ground, on the grass if the tickling sensation along my bare skin was any indication. Beside me, perched on his elbow as he gazed down at me, was who I could only describe as a God. Large and chiseled, as bare skinned as I was, with his body pressed so close to my own that I could feel every ripple of his muscles as he leisurely trailed one of his large hands across the sensitive skin of my abdomen.
A gasp parted my lips when his fingers clasped one of my n*****s, rolling and pinching it to a pebbled peak. My reaction was what he was looking for, my soft gasps of surprise and desire brought fire to his eyes, the darkness lighting to a bright orange as if fire truly began to burn within their depths. His perfect, kissable lips turning up into a secret smirk. The look of a man who knew the body of his lover and enjoyed pushing her to the edge of her desire.
“There is my little star.” He whispered, leaning forward, his teeth latching onto the sensitive skin of my ear lobe. Another gasp left my lips, a groan followed closely behind. “Well, it wasn’t the moan I requested, but that will come later.”
That accent, those words ‘my little star’, his glowing orange eyes. My memories came rushing back. Drogon.
“Drogon!” I exclaimed, turning into him to throw my arms around his neck, burying my nose into his skin to breathe his heavenly scent deep into my lungs. I hadn’t seen him in so long, I’d been locked away in the depths of a mountain dungeon for years. Where was I? How had I gotten here? How had Drogon come to be with me?
But at the moment, none of that mattered. All that mattered was that he was here, and I was here. We were together.
“Each time I dream of you it takes longer for you to awaken, and each time you see me it takes just a little longer for you to remember who I am.” Laughter rumbled through his chest, his arms wrapping around me as he rolled onto his back and pulled me on top of him.
We laid like that for goddess only knew how long. Simply enjoying the others hold and breathing our mates calming scent into our lungs. After a while I pushed myself up, my legs on either side of his hips as his c**k rested snuggly against my scathing wetness. I refused to focus on carnal desires though, instead, I sat there, gazing down at him as if memorizing every single plain and angle of his handsome face, and he did the same.
“I don’t understand what’s going on, Drogon.” I whispered, afraid that if I spoke too loudly all of this would disappear, because what else could it be but a figment of my imagination?
“I’ve found that the more questions we ask, the faster our time goes.” He answered softly, his hands were resting on my waist, thumbs gliding across my skin soothingly.
“You said before each time we meet I take longer to awaken, what did you mean?”
“Every time I have dreamt of you, I have found you sleeping peacefully in this meadow. I’m not sure why it is here that we meet, I don’t recognize the place, but it is always here.” One hand raised to cup my cheek and I leaned into him, closing my eyes I soaked in the sparks that sprang between our skin. “And you are always naked. Like a nymph waiting for her satyr.”
“For you.” The words left my lips before I had even contemplated saying them. But they were true, he was the only man I ever thought of. The only man that made me burn with desire by only one look or a simple word.
“I will find you, my treasure. My little star.” His fingers slipped in my hair, pulling me closer until our lips were only a breath away from each other. “Even if I must burn the world and search through the ashes, I will find you.”
His words sent music through my heart, causing my soul to dance in joy. I was loved, I was missed.
Except, this wasn’t the real Drogon… was it? He’d mentioned dreams before, was that all this was? A dream? It didn’t feel like any dream I’d ever had before, but how was I to know?
“As of now we are together, even if for only a short time.” I whispered against his lips, his spiced breath on my skin was doing things to my mind, making it hard to focus on anything but him. All I knew was that dream or not, I needed him. All of him. “For now, set me afire, like the stars you compare me to.”
“As you wish, my queen.” Drogon growled in return. I expected him to press his lips to mine, to run his hands down my body, lighting my skin a fire with his touch.
I gasped in shock when he rolled us over, his body covering mine and his hips pressing me into the soft grass. Drogon grasped my wrists in the palm of one of his large hands and pinned them to the earth above my head. Desire, lighting hot and searing shot through my body, wrangling a moan from my lips as he ground his hips into me, his throbbing c**k pressing to my aching clit.
Crying out I arched against him, pressing closer, begging him to give me what I wanted, what my body so desperately needed. I’d never felt like this before, not even the single night I’d spent with William, a man who was supposed to have been my mate.
“What do you want, my treasure?” Drogon asked, his deep voice now thick with desire. The fingers of his free hand were pinching and rolling my n****e between them once more, drawing a strangled moan from my throat.
“Please.” I found myself begging. I’d never begged for anything in my life, but I would for him.
“Tell me what you want. Use your words my queen.” His teeth nipped at my neck, as if there weren’t enough sensations taking over my sensitive body.
“Please Drogon, love me.” At my words the assault on my person halted, his hips pausing, the hand that had been torturing my breast moved to my cheek, holding my face still as he gazed into my eyes with a fierceness I was stunned by.
“I will love you until the end of time. Through this world and the next, you are my very heart and soul.” With that he pressed his lips to mine and rocking his hips slowly forward he began to enter me, our bodies becoming one. The assault of sensations left me breathless and unsure where one of us began and the other ended.
And then the pain. A slicing so deep and so raw that I screamed out in agony. Drogon halted above me, and then he was gone, his heated skin leaving mine to the cold of the air around us.
“No!” I heard him shout, his arms wrapping around me and scooping me off the ground to instead cradle me to his chest. All the while the burning pain deep within my chest continued, as if a steak were being driven into my body over and over. I writhed in his arms, unable to stay still and simply enjoy his embrace. The pain was to intense, to all consuming.
“No! Celeste! Please, stay with me, we haven’t had nearly enough time!”
Enough time, what was he talking about? This was all a dream… right?
“Celeste! I will find you! I promise!” Drogon’s lips pressed to mine, my screams muffled by his embrace. And then it was gone.
All of it.
The heat in the air. The touch of his skin on mine. The sparks that spoke of a mates embrace. And the pain. All of it was gone in the blink of an eye and I awoke, curled up on my side in the middle of my tiny cell. The ragged clothes on my body did little to keep the cold from my skin, and the thin material under me was no better then lying on the stone floor itself.
I’d been sleeping. Dreaming, though of what I had already forgotten. All I could clearly remember was the warmth that had been pressed to my skin, and the soft sparks that were slowly dissolving from my lips.
The more I tried to hold onto the murky edges of the dream I’d left, the further away it slipped.
“Get up!” A shout at the bars of my cell startled me, yanking me from my musings and confusion and back to the dark world I was imprisoned in. “Time to get you ready.”
“For what?” I grumbled, pulling my sore body from the hard floor and stretching my limbs in an attempt to loosen my stiff muscles.
“You’ll see.” He snickered, and though the dark humor in his words caused a shiver to race down my spine, I stiffened it and held my head high. I was a queen, and I refused to show any one here weakness.
I was going to get us out today… at any cost.
