Marco sat there, staring at Sade, his mind racing. He couldn't believe where things had gone wrong. His throat tightened, and he took a deep breath, trying to find the words.
"I remember the first time I saw you," he said, his voice cracking. "We were in grammar school. You were this lively, bubbly little girl, and it felt like you had this aura around you. You were smart, strong, kind... You didn’t take s**t from anybody, and I knew I had to be next to you. And, you know, as we got older, I developed these feelings. I'd see other guys around you, and I’d get jealous. I wanted to beat the hell out of them. You were mine, you know? From the first day I saw you, I knew you were mine. And I don't wanna lose you."
