Knox’s POV As I pull up to my mother’s house in the Evergreen Estate on the south side of Chicago, I feel that familiar mix of peace and nostalgia hit me. To anyone else, this place looks like a damn mansion, three stories, brick and stone, wraparound porch, manicured lawn with the little white fence, and all that. But to me? It’s just home. My parents have been here since the late '80s, back when they were still figuring each other out.
