Chapter 108 Moving On

797 Words

Sade’s POV The air was thick with the scent of summer creeping in, the kind that made kids restless in their classrooms, counting down the days until freedom. School was almost out, and Sade was thriving. Life was smooth, steady. Her relationship with Adamo had been going strong for nearly five months now, and the two of them had settled into an easy rhythm. They laughed often, ate out even more, and spent almost every free moment together. The people at Northwestern Medicine had to know by now. The way Adamo would send her those formal emails—"Meet me in my office at 4:45 to discuss the dementia medicine distribution"—only for her to arrive and have him pulling her inside, locking the door, and devouring her like a man starved. She never resisted. Not when he whispered, "Turn around."
