Tasting His Close Friend

1109 Words
The bar is full; Mariah and Tianah have pretty much been pouring the shots down my throat. I won't complain, though, as I'm laughing and enjoying the night. Standing on the dance floor with them, my body moves to the music. It is our favorite song and we are singing at the top of our lungs while twisting and whining our waists. At least, that is what we were trying to do. I'm glad I decided to come out. They were right. I do feel better already. The list, the liberation, I feel so alive. Never have I felt this alive. I turn around to take another shot and I freeze. I see him and her together. Jonathan and Audrey. They are staring at me and laughing. Perhaps at my choice of outfit or my dance moves. I’m not sure what it was but I know they were mocking me. "Don't.” Mariah says, shaking her head. “Don't think about it. You do not let him and that backstabbing b*tch of a woman come in here and stop your fun. Turn your back to them and shake what your mama gave you." Mariah pulls me so I'm no longer facing them, but my eyes instinctively search for someone as I try to think positively. Strangely, I feel watched. Looking over to my side, I do not see anyone. Instead I see Jordan sitting on the barstool. “Don’t look but look to your right. A hot stuff is watching you,” I looked over but saw no one. “Come on Tianah, there is no one there.” She looks over. “I could have sworn there was a man there, blonde hair and all, staring at you for like three minutes. Anyways, his loss” Mariah's hands on my hips guide me into a sensual dance. I let go of my inhibitions, allowing the music to take control. My body sways, my hips grinding to the beat. “Girl, you’re on fire. Another sweet stuff is looking your way, someone you know?” “He’s Jonathan’s friend.” “Friend, you say. Hmm. His stare says otherwise. He has been staring for a while now. Now if he's also your friend, I don't think that's how friends look at each other.” she winks at me. Confusion etched in my brain as I wonder why he kept on staring. I look over and take in his looks. He looks... different. I feel a flutter in my chest as he raises his glass in a silent toast to my dance moves making me feel more confident in what I was about to do next. We've spoken once or twice in class but nothing more than greetings and whereabouts of Jonathan, his friend. We weren’t close but I knew that He left the country to finish his education somewhere and back because of the wedding. Seeing him again made me feel all kinds of tingles. I raise my arms above my head, letting the music consume me. Twisting and whining my waist to Mariah body, I could hear Mariah’s voice in my head to have fun. I take a step forward, my feet moving of their own accord. "I’ll be right back girls." I’m more interested in having fun but this will also give Jonathan something interesting to talk about. Mariah and Tianah nod but look at me, confused. They continued to dance, and I walk towards Jordan’s way. I make my way through the crowd to the bar. He's facing the bar. I could feel Jonathan’s eyes watching me but I don't look back. Sitting on the bar stool, Jordan notices me and smiles slyly. "Leaving your friends behind?." He asks, his voice low and husky. I smile, feeling a thrill of excitement. "Just taking a break," I reply, my voice barely above a whisper. Jordan's eyes gleam with amusement. "And what do you plan to do on this break?" he asks, his voice dripping with innuendo. I feel a shiver run down my spine as he runs his hands over my exposed shoulder. "I think you know exactly what I have in mind," I reply, my voice husky with desire. He laughs then orders me a drink. “Rainbow, it’s been long. I actually didn't expect to see you out tonight” "Am I not allowed to have fun like the rest of you?" He chuckles at my words. "I didn't think you 'did' fun." "Because Jonathan said so, right?" He nods and I gulp down his drink, feeling the cool liquid slide down my throat. "Dance with me, will you?" I ask, my voice husky with desire. Jordan's eyes gleam with surprise, but then he nods, a slow smile spreading across his face. We move to the dance floor, the music swallowing us whole. The beat is infectious, and I feel myself losing myself in the rhythm. My fingers glide to his as I wrap his arms around my waist as I face him, my face inches away as I continued to slowly dance on him. He peers at me, confused. His eyes stay fixed on mine but he doesn’t speak. Christ am I really about to do this? Doubt creeps in, and I feel someone something push me forward, my lips pressing against his. The feel of his hand slipping around my waist makes me smile as I continue to kiss Jonathan’s close friend. Jordan's tongue brushes against mine, sending shivers down my spine. I feel myself getting lost myself in the kiss. His hands pull me closer and I moan, the sound lost in the music but not to the both of us. Finally I break away from the kiss. "What was that?" He stares at me. "Oh, just some fun. Thanks for letting me borrow your mouth for a few seconds." Turning, I walk towards Mariah and Tianah. "Wow." Mariah laughs. "I gave you a nudge but didn't think you would actually stick your tongue in his mouth." "I guess your tongue show worked, Jonathan is pissed." Tianah laughs, and I glance over, seeing him glaring at me. I give a little wave and turn away from him. "You realise you never do that, right? The whole kissing someone, random people. You kiss people who you date, that's it." Tianah continues to laugh. "I changed my mind; dating got me nowhere. I mean, Men are scum, right, plus I might test-ride all his friends during my exploration period just to piss him off more." They both laugh, but I'm being serious. We stayed for a short while longer before making our way home.
