Thursday, 7th October 2008 Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaSecretary of State Margaret Henderson was a career diplomat and had served in numerous overseas postings, including as Ambassador to Britain, before rising to her present position. She was best known for her work in the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Accord and she was a popular choice with Republicans and Democrats alike when President Whiting announced her appointment. The only negative the President had considered at the time was her age but although she had recently turned sixty-three she still demonstrated a strong vitality and enthusiasm to get the job done.
