Maya's eyes were fixed on Kuroba, her mind racing with the plan to catch the killer. "We need to set a trap," she said, her voice firm.
Kuroba's eyes narrowed. "What kind of trap?" he asked.
Maya's eyes sparkled with determination. "We'll use me as bait," she said. "We'll make the killer think I'm getting close to the truth, and then we'll catch him in the act."
Kuroba's face was skeptical. "I don't know, Maya," he said. "This is a high-risk plan."
Maya's face was set. "I know it's a risk," she said. "But I'm willing to take it. We need to catch this killer before he strikes again."
Kuroba nodded, his eyes never leaving Maya's. "Okay," he said. "Let's do it."
Together, they set the trap, using Maya as bait to lure the killer into a trap. They waited anxiously, their hearts pounding with anticipation.
And then, just as they were starting to think the plan had failed, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was the killer, his eyes fixed on Maya with a cold, calculating gaze.
Maya's heart skipped a beat. "It's him," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Kuroba's eyes locked onto the killer. "Let's move in," he whispered back.
But as they moved in to apprehend the killer, Maya realized that something was off. The killer seemed too calm, too collected. And then, just as she was about to make the arrest, he spoke.
"You'll never take me alive," he said, his voice dripping with malice.
And with that, he pulled out a small device from his pocket and pressed a button. The room was filled with a blinding light, and Maya felt herself being pulled away from the killer.
When the light faded, Maya found herself alone in a dark, deserted alleyway. The killer was gone, and she was left with more questions than answers.
