CHAPTER 4
RILEY'S POV
Getting home as I left the cafe after my shift, the sound of a motorcycle made me stop, I looked towards the road, a black motorcycle pulled up beside the sidewalk, my heart skipped a beat, not because I knew the rider, I didn't but because there was something strangely familiar about him, the same black helmet, the same black jacket, he turned off the bike and remained on the bike with one hand resting on the handle bar, I quickly looked away and started walking fast, the nearer I got to my apartment the faster I increased my speed, immediately I entered my front door I locked it resting my head on the door, " why is he always in my head, I just saw him fir the second time and he's already stuck in my head" I told myself, but on odd thing, he feels familiar, like we've met before but I can't trace it, ohh well maybe it's in my imagination, he has been in my head for too long already, I knew one thing straight, and that was getting Kian Black out of my head. Sleeping was the best option for me, I've had a long ass day.
Waking up the next day I knew t was going to be hell, I quickly had my bath and got dressed to get ready for work, entering the cafe, the bell over the door rang, and I went to change to my work clothes in the changing, mid shift my boss Mr Will called me into his office " Riley" " yes sir" I replied " we have an event tomorrow and we were paid to cater for them, we would be serving pastries and beverages, but I want you to oversee and manage the cafe and the other workers, it's a charity fundraising gala organized and hosted by a group of people, I wood need you to do your possible best for everything, and oh Riley" he said as I looked up, he stretched his hand and gave me a stack of papers in a folder from his desk "yes sir". " I need you to take this to the event center" I stared at the folder "today?" " yes, the decorators are already there, and I need someone to make sure everything is arranged before tomorrow" I sigh quietly "okay" I collected the folder form his table " one just thing" " yes" " please don't loose this one" I gave him an offended look " when have I ever lost anything?", he raised an eyebrow " okay don't answer that" he laughed and I look exited his office. I gathered all my things and headed outside.
The event center wasn't that far from the cafe, so I decided to walk in, when I arrived I immediately noticed several motorcycle parked near the entrance. I stopped. " interesting" I told myself. A group of men stood around them talking and laughing. I walked pass them and entered the building " excuse me ", a woman carrying the clipboard hurried towards me " are you from Mr Will's office?" she asked me "yes" " thank goodness, were still waiting for the final paperwork" I handed her the folder "everything should be inside" she opened it and started checking the documents " perfect". I turned around then I heard the familiar sound, the motorcycle engine, I froze, that sound I've heard it before, I slowly turned into the entrance, a black motorcycle pulled into the parking area the rider stopped, black helmet, the black jacket, same posture, my chest tightened, it was him, the biker " what are you doing here?" I whispered. the woman beside me looked at me " Do you know him?" "no" I immediately looked away "then why are you staring?" " I'm not staring " "you definitely are" I ignored her. the biker removed his helmet I couldn't see his face properly from where I stood, he spoke briefly to one of the men outside I tried away quickly, maybe he won't notice me " Riley?" I looked up, the biker was standing a few feet away, my heart jumped, he stared at me, I stared back. for a moment neither if us spoke, then he did "you" I frowned "me" he nodded "you're here" I crossed my arms " apparently", his eyes narrowed slightly, I looked at him for a moment "what" he asked " you're strange" I told him " so I've been told" a tiny smile appeared on his face, and I smiled too, " no" I told myself in my head absolutely not, I didn't know this man and there was something about him that made me feel like I should keep my distance "Riley" "yes" there was something about the way he said my name that felt oddly familiar, before he could talk someone called his name from outside "Kian" he turned, one of his men was waving at him " coming" he looked back at me " see you around Riley" I watched him leave.
KIAN'S POV
"you've been quiet" I looked at Marcus one of my most trusted friends " I'm fine" he laughed " you've been saying that for the past one hour " I'm just tired" " you don't look tired" I glanced at him " do you always analyze people's faces?" " only yours". Another voice cane from behind us "he's definitely hiding something" I tired towards Jace " I'm not hiding anything" Marcus smirked "
" then why were you staring at the girl?" " what girl?" I asked " the one inside" I looked away " nobody" "drop it" Marcus raised his birth hands in defense " okay okay" I asked towards the motorcycle but my mind wasn't on it it was her her, Riley. I looked forward and got lost in my delusions " bro" I looked up at Marcus " what" " you okay" "yeah" he studied me " you sure?" " I'm sure" he nodded " then let's get going" I put my helmet on, but before I climb onto my motorcycle, I looked towards the entrance of the event center Riley was standing there watching me, our eyes met, she quickly looked away, for some reasons, I smiled, Marcus noticed " who is she?" my smile disappeared" no one " " you're terrible at lying" I stared at the motorcycle " good thing I wasn't lying"
RILEY'S POV
" Riley" I turned around, the woman with the clipboard was standing behind me " yes?" " do you know Kian?" I hesitated " not really" she smiled " she is one of the organizers, his group is the one hosting the fundraiser" " ohh" I looked at the parking lot " yes" he is sponsoring the motorcycle clubs" that explains the motorcycles. I nodded, interesting , she looked at me suspiciously " why" " nothing" I grabbed my bag " I should get back to the cafe" as I walked outside I heard a motorcycle start I looked back, Kian was already putting on his helmet, he looked at me for a second before riding away, I watched as he disappeared around the corner
I didn't know why he bothered me, he was just a stranger, that's all, at least that's what I told myself.
