Lydia’s POV I finally got to the place Marcus was waiting. He was standing by the side of his black jeep, arms folded, eyes sharp like he’d been watching the road for hours. As soon as I stepped out of the car, he didn’t waste any time. “Lydia,” he said, “why have you been so restless since Harry stayed with you?” I looked away quickly, trying to hide my nervousness. “Nothing, really,” I said, brushing past him like it wasn’t a big deal. “It’s just… he’s been acting strange lately.” Marcus raised a brow. “Strange how?” I sighed and leaned against the car door, my arms crossed. “He keeps bringing up that day… the day he got stabbed during the war.
