"We’re turning," Miller announced from the front. They changed vans on their way here since Victor already told them Leo would be following them. So to be on a safer side, there was another van on standby which Leo thought he was following until he lost it. They finally brought Mia in after Leo left that evening.
The van slowed down a bit, the sound of smooth road changing to the crunch of gravel. A gate buzzed open, and then the engine finally died.
The black van finally stopped. Mia felt the change as the tires moved from the smooth highway onto rough gravel. Her body was still completely useless. The heavy medicine they gave her kept her arms and legs pinned down like heavy stones. She sat in total darkness under the thick blindfold, listening to the engine die.
