THE NEXT DAY
A Summer Morning
It was a beautiful summer morning. Felicia, the only daughter of the third most prestigious family in Houston, Texas, was sitting calmly on a long black leather couch in the living room, engrossed in her phone.
Felicia was a twenty-year-old beauty. She was of average height with well-defined curves. Since it was Sunday, she was home for the day.
She was dressed in a white crop top, jean bum shorts, a gold waist chain around her waist, and white sneakers. Her blonde hair was tied into a beautiful bun, while her youthful face radiated innocence. Her deep-blue eyes and apple-shaped lips, red as paint, made her look adorable as ever.
Glancing toward the glass door of the extravagant mansion, which had just opened, Felicia immediately jumped off the couch.
“Daddy! You’re back!”
She rushed over to hug Mr. Williams and gave him a light peck on the cheek.
However, after kissing her father on the cheek, she noticed a tall, cold, and fierce-looking handsome man standing beside him.
He was dressed entirely in black—a black leather jacket, black pants, and black sneakers.
Felicia stared at him curiously.
Is he the Black Panther from a movie? Everything about him is black!
She trembled slightly before finally gathering the courage to speak.
“Who is this, Dad?”
Mr. Williams simply replied, “Your bodyguard from now on.”
Without saying another word, he strode toward the staircase and began ascending without looking back.
“What?!”
Felicia's eyebrow twitched.
“Dad! But I told you I don't need a bodyguard!”
“f**k!” she complained.
Ever since she had been rescued from those bad guys that day, her father, Mr. Williams, had become extremely overprotective of her.
It was becoming incredibly frustrating.
Now I have a bodyguard?
And this bodyguard is going to follow me everywhere? To the club, parties, birthday parties… Oh my goodness! This is so frustrating.
Well, nobody dislikes money, she thought.
She turned toward the cold-looking man.
“Hey, you! What's up?” she called out.
The man ignored her.
“What's your name? Where are you from?”
She threw several questions at him, but he simply replied with one calm word.
“Tristan.”
“Felicia…” She paused. “Oh, Tristan, right?”
Again, she was completely ignored.
Tristan simply walked toward the long couch and sat down. He looked completely exhausted.
Felicia Williams stared at the rude bodyguard. She felt an irresistible urge to beat him up.
She angrily stepped on his toe, jolting him awake from his peaceful moment.
“What do you think you're doing?”
His voice was cold and menacing.
Felicia froze for a moment. She trembled slightly but soon regained her composure.
She gathered her courage and suddenly burst out laughing.
“You think I'm going to be afraid of you? Huh? Dream on!”
She pointed at him.
“Look here, bodyguard or whatever your name is. Can't you tell the difference between the master and the servant?!”
Tristan, on the other hand, was completely displeased with the “brainless kid” throwing a tantrum in front of him.
Felicia, oblivious to the dark expression on his face, continued.
“Look at you! You're so tall and handsome, yet you're completely brainless. If you weren't brainless, you wouldn't have agreed to become someone's bodyguard. Tsk!”
She folded her arms.
“How shameless, and—”
“And?”
Tristan interrupted her coldly.
Felicia slowly turned to look at him.
The moment she saw the cold and dark expression on his face, she trembled slightly.
“Black Panther…” she muttered fearfully.
Then she quickly dashed up the stairs.
9:00 PM — THAT EVENING
Tristan returned home and found the family already gathered around the dining table, enjoying their dinner in a peaceful atmosphere.
Beside the elderly couple sat a beautiful little girl with blonde hair, around six or seven years old.
The moment the entrance door opened, the little girl looked up.
“Baby! You're back!”
She jumped down from her chair and ran toward Tristan, throwing her arms around him and giving him a light peck on the cheek.
Her face was filled with happiness at the sight of the handsome young man.
She was clearly excited to see him.
Tristan, on the other hand, changed instantly.
The coldness on his face vanished, replaced by a loving and caring smile.
He picked the little girl up in his arms.
“Coco, how are you doing today?” he whispered.
“Did anyone bully you?”
He asked her several questions before walking toward the modest dining room.
After settling down, Tristan placed Coco on his lap and gestured for the little girl to start eating.
He then turned toward the elderly couple.
“Good evening, Grandpa and Grandma.”
“Good evening, Grandpa and Grandma,” he greeted warmly.
The elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Kim, replied in unison.
“Welcome back, son.”
Mr. and Mrs. Kim were both in their late fifties. They had only one daughter, who had been involved in a terrible accident with her husband and their daughter three years earlier.
Sadly, their daughter and her husband had died.
Only Coco had survived.
Mr. Kim looked at Tristan.
“So, what about the place you went to?”
“Good, Grandpa. You don't have to worry about that, okay? Everything went smoothly.”
Tristan smiled.
“I'll receive my salary at the end of the month, and we'll have enough money for Coco's surgery.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Mrs. Kim chimed in.
“If it weren't for Coco's surgery, you wouldn't be looking for a job so desperately after finishing your training at G.T.G. — G-God Training Ground.”
She sighed heavily.
Tristan nodded.
“Grandpa, when are you going back?”
He was referring to North Bay Sail, where Mr. Kim worked as a supervisor at the shipyard.
“Next week, Tristan,” Mr. Kim replied calmly.
“Alright, Grandpa,” Tristan muttered before continuing with his dinner.
Meanwhile…
Felicia had been trying to get into her father's room. She had knocked several times, but there was no response.
She had no choice but to wait until dinner time.
However, Mr. Williams had requested that his dinner be served in his room.
“f**k! This is so frustrating,” Felicia cursed.
Tomorrow was the day she would resume school, and she couldn't stand the thought of having a bodyguard following her everywhere.
“Now I'll have this annoying bodyguard following me everywhere!”
“f**k!” she cursed again.
Not long afterward, she spotted a servant carrying her father's dinner.
An idea suddenly came to her.
She secretly followed the female servant down the hallway.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
The servant knocked on the door.
“Sir! Your food is here. Please open the door.”
Felicia stood around the corner, her eyes fixed on the door.
A moment later, the wooden door slowly creaked open.
Felicia immediately stepped forward and entered the extravagant master bedroom.
Mr. Williams looked up.
For a moment, he was completely speechless.
“Felicia…?” he finally managed to say.
