"I managed to dispersed her world tree magic that is binding me. This should buy me enough time to think of a plan".

"Your Dispersion spell is amazing. It managed to cut through my world magic. I'll give you a point for that, but, don't you think now that it's over".

"World Tree Sealing Magic: Shackling Roots"!

"You can now admit defeat if you don't want to be sealed anymore".

"Huh? What are you talking about? You didn't even managed to capture me". Shu said as he is in the air, floating.

"How did you managed to escape that"? Akari asked.

"I can engulf myself in lightning, and because of that, I can move faster".

"So you have excellent mana control. Are you some royalty or what"?

"Nope. You don't have to be from a royal family to have excellent mana control. I guess I can say that I have the talent for it but it's my training that polished that".

"Huh, what's this? His mana territory just keeps on expanding. I feel his lightning magic present on the whole academy".

"Huh, what's happening to the academy"? His classmates asks.

"What the hell is happening. Why is your mana spreading all over the place"!?

"One who has excellent control over their mana, can use Mana Skin. They can then engulf themselves in their own magic attribute to serve as their armor".

"How do you know that!? And where did you learn it"? Akari asked.

"Like I said earlier, it's my training that polished it". Shu replied.

"To think that I will be facing a mage who can use Mana Zone on my first year here at the academy. Bring it on, Shu"!

"I should still equip some armor so that I can dodge her magic spells especially that she seems to specialize in sealing spells".

"Here I go"! Shu said as he is moving around Akari at an immense speed.

"Who would have thought that there will be a lightning mage here whose already at the stage one. He could reach arcane stage soon enough". Yua said.

"Lightning Creation Magic: Thunder Sword"!

Shu is moving at an immense speed cutting through the World Tree Magic of Akari.

"Tsk. He's so fast".

Akari is regenerating his World Tree instantaneously, trying to capture Shu.

"There's no end to this huh", Shu said as he is still cutting through the World Tree Magic to get to Akari and end the match.

The Wizard King just ordered me not to stand out and yet here I am. I've shown to the students at the academy that I can use Mana Zone.

I must end this quickly, I would rather not use the Skylark Sword because for sure, it will draw more attention.

"Mana Zone: Lightning Magic: Thunder Swords Wrath: Barrage"!

Shu began to cut through the thick forest of woods instantaneously with his magic.

"Tsk, at this rate, I will lose", Akari said.

"World Tree Magic-"

Akari didn't even managed to complete her spell as Shu is now standing behind her pointing his sword on her neck.

"H-How? You were just cutting through my World Tree Magic-"

As Akari look on her surroundings, she realized that Shu have managed to cut through the World Tree Magic in an instant.

"You're full of surprises, Shu". Akari said as she lay down her arms.

"It's an honor to be praised by a member of the Great Families".

"You're indeed strong. I admit defeat".

Miss Yua declared the winner.

"The winner of the first practice match is, the transfer student, Shu Iwasaki"!

Their classmates started talking about Shu.

"Wow, he's a genius".

"Right? He can even use Mana Zone".

"Not to mention he managed to defeat someone from the Great Four Families".

"You are truly amazing, Shu. I can't wait to fight you", Riku said as he smiled from the seats watching Shu.

Meanwhile, Sora is speaking with someone after watching Shu's battle.

"He's talented, don't you think"?

"His instincts in combat is at my level. No, I think that he surpasses mine".

"This is not normal for you to praise like that, Asahi".

"I'm just stating the truth. If the competition among schools were to be held, I want him in the team".

"Hmm, let's see if he will be consistent in the other upcoming matches".

Sora and Asahi walked out of the school ground.

"Then, we are now done for today. Good work everyone. We will continue the matches tomorrow". Yua said.

After the practice matches that day, Shu has gone to the palace to report his first day to the Wizard King.

While on his way, Shu sensed the presence of demon magic.

"Hmm... Are they on their move again"?

Shu immediately ran towards the place where he felt the demon magic.

But when he reached the place, there's no person nor devil in there. He continued walking to the palace.

"Wizard King, I'm coming in. About my first day-", Shu didn't managed to finish speaking as the Wizard King started to asked him a question.

"You've sensed it too, didn't you? The devils casting magic spells".

"Yes. When I'm on my way here, I sensed mana that seems to be from a demon. I walked to that place but when I reached it, there's no one there."

"The low-ranking and mid-ranking devils can't cast magic spells, which means"...

"They must be high-ranking devils", Yoru replied.

"Yoru, I want you to investigate this. I know you still have a mission ongoing but please walk this tomorrow. We must find who's that devil that's been lurking around the kingdom".

"Yes, Wizard King".

Yoru then went to his house to rest and get ready for his mission.

Now it's a new day. While Shu is walking to the school, he noticed that there are a lot of people gathered in front of the academy.

Yua approached Shu immediately asking, "Shu, did you see Akari"?

Shu immediately replied, "No, what happened"?

"It seems like she's missing".

Shu suddenly remembered the devil last night.

"Since when did she went missing"?

"The time she left the school. That's the last time she's been seen".

"I see. Miss Yua, if you don't mind, can I skip class today? I have something important to do".

"I know there's a problem ongoing but you can't just ditch class-" Yua didn't managed to finish what she's saying as Shu immediately replied.

"Thanks Miss. By the time I return here, I'll make sure that she's with me".

"You're not thinking of saving her-", Yua didn't managed to finish her sentence as Shu suddenly ran.

"I have to find her. Those are high-ranking devils for sure. I can't afford to lose anyone before me again".

"Even if they are impotant to me or not, as long as they're in line of my sight. I will protect them"!

"That is my vow as a Magic Knight. I will protect everyone in this kingdom".
