Himari's Test

As soon as the woman enter, Shu is surprised by what she have seen. Apparently, the woman he have walked together to the academy earlier is the Student Council President.

"Looks like we've met again, young man".

"You are the woman from earlier. Himari Yotsuba, right"?

"Yes, then, what are you doing here"?

"Oh that's right. He is Shu, Shu Iwasaki". The Headmaster said.

"You've been looking forward to meeting him, right"?

"Oh so you're the one who managed to defeat Ryusei. Why didn't you tell me earlier that your name is Shu"?

"Wait, you guys met earlier"? Sora asks.

"Yeah, when I was on my way here, I met him. Then, we walked together".

"I am not aware Shu that you're pretty good at girls. Maybe you can teach me your ways". Asahi said.

"Stop with the jokes Asahi. Then, why do the Student Council President want to meet me"?

"I've been looking forward to meeting you, Shu. You have piqued my interest".

"I'm grateful that the Student Council President have taken an interest on me". Shu said as he bows to Himari.

"You're quite the respectful one, aren't you"?

"We will begin the training now". The Headmaster said.

"Oh so we will start immediately now"? Himari replied.

"Yes, the Magic Competition is nearing. We only have three days left. We actually have four days left but I will leave the last day to you guys. You can rest on that day or practice too. It depends on you. Do what you want. Now you three, start warming up"!

"Yes"! Shu, Asahi and Sora replied.

"So they will have a rest day before the Magic Competition huh. That's so kind of you Headmaster". Himari said.

"Even though the opponents are strong, of course we still need to get some rest and have time for ourselves. Pressuring the representatives won't do anything good". The Headmaster replied.

Himari approached Shu.

"Then Shu, how did you defeat Ryusei"?

"I just barely managed to outplay him. That's the reason why I won".

"She's at your level Himari when it comes to Mana Zone mastery". Asahi said.

"He have an excellent control over his mana". Sora replied.

"Ohh, I see. Let's put it to test then".

"Hmm, what do you mean about that, Student Council President"?

"I challenge you to a duel".

Everyone is in shocked when they heard Himari challenges Shu.

"So the Student Council President wants to fight me huh. Why though"? Shu asks.

"I've already said earlier, didn't I. You have piqued my interest. I'll fight you tomorrow here in the arena. Well then, I'm off now".

"Hmm, she really never holds back huh". Asahi said.

"What do you mean"? Shu said.

"She's always like that whenever she see someone whose so strong. She is stronger than Sora, honestly".

"Asahi is right. Himari is way stronger than me". Sora replied.

"Then, why isn't she participating at the Magic Competition". Shu asks.

"We don't know the reason". Asahi and Sora replied.

"She just refused to participate even when we were just first-years". Sora added.

"Oh, I see. Guess I have no choice but to fight her huh".

"Be careful of her Shu, it is said that she is on the level of the Three Great Dragons".

"So she's at that level huh".

"Wait, how come you can stay so calm like this when you're facing the Student Council President"? Asahi asks.

"I don't know either. Guess I'm just too relaxed".

"What do you mean"?

"Oh, it's nothing. Let's start training then".

I have the feeling that she's hiding something. Guess I'll have to know what it is tomorrow.

They continued their training from morning till nighttime.

They've been battling each other with their own magic prowess.

"Okay, that's all for this day guys. You can go home and rest now. As for you Shu, be careful tomorrow with Himari and, goodluck". The Headmaster said.

"The Headmaster is right. You should be careful tomorrow. Her Mana Zone mastery is off the charts too". Sora added.

"Yeah yeah, I'll keep that in mind. I will win tomorrow so, you guys don't have to worry about me". Shu replied.

"Shu"...

While Shu is on his way home, he met the Wizard King.

"Wizard King. Do you have something to say"?

"What's wrong, Shu? Looks like you're bothered the whole day".

They continued their conversation while walking towards Shu's home.

"Oh I see. So it has something to do with the Student Council President of Magic Academy. Never mind that, I have something important to tell you".

"What is it Wizard King? Does it have something to do with the devils"?

"Yes. Apparently, there's a mage in the Spade Kingdom that is a devil-possessed".

"Devil-possessed"?

"Yes. I just tried expanding my Mana Zone earlier so that I can check on the mana that is present on the kingdom. I happen to expand it too much that it reaches the Spade Kingdom. There, I have sensed an otherworldly mana but it also have some mana that is present within our world. I suspect it is a mage that is devil-possessed".

"I see. Then, Wizard King, do you want me to investigate this"?

"I can't allow you to do that. I'll put other Magic Knights to be in charged of that mission. I just you told you this so that you'll always be ready in case the Magic Academy gets attacked".

"Now I understand. I'll keep that in mind".

"I'll count on you Shu. I'm leaving then now. I still have some paperworks to do".

"Take care Wizard King".

Soon enough, Shu reached his house and have eaten his dinner before going to sleep. He rested earlier to prepare for the match tomorrow.

A new day have started. Shu completed his breakfast first and then started walking to the Academy.

"I didn't get to sleep enough last night. I've been thinking that something's off with her".

"Someone being interested on me huh".

"I'll just have to win this match".

He reached the academy soon enough. As he reached the arena, a large crowd of students unveils before his eyes.

Maybe the Headmaster have arranged this. He wants this match to be witnessed by the students.

"Oh, there you are Shu"!

Sora said as he is approaching Shu.

"You must warm up now. The battle is about to start". She added.

I've just arrived here and yet the match will start immediately.

"Tell the Headmaster that I have warmed up already. I want the match to start now".

"O-okay. I'll go and tell the Headmaster".

*At the arena's battlefield*

"Today is such a wonderful day. Except for the good weather that we have, we will get to witness the genius, Shu Iwasaki, to battle the Student Council President, Himari Yotsuba"!

The crowd is full of cheering after what the Headmaster said.

So they recognized me as a genius huh.

"So you have made a name for yourself while I was away, Shu. The once in a century genius, let's see if you're worthy of that". Himari said.

For some reason, I feel so relaxed today. And at the same time, I'm scared.

"Mages, position yourselves"!

"Let the match, commence"!

"Mana Zone: Lightning Magic: Thunder God's Armor"!

"Lightning Creation Magic: Thunder Sword"!

Shu flickered his body with the help of Thunder God's Armor to land an attack on Himari.

"Mana Zone: Wind Magic: Dispersion"!

Himari's spell caused the Thunder God's Armor to be dispersed and thus disabling it. And so the Thunder Sword.

Everyone on the arena is surprised by what have Himari done.

Meanwhile, Shu managed to react immediately and have landed safely.

"Dispersion? The same spell as me"?

"Judging from your reaction, I'll assume that you can do the Lightning Style of Dispersion".

"Lightning Style"?

"The Dispersion is a S-class magic spell. It requires excellent mana control to do it because it can dispersed through the magic spell of others. This can only be applied to Wind and Lightning Magic".

"So it is really like what Sora and Asahi said. You're truly strong. Guess this will be hard".

I'll have to fight without my Thunder God's Armor for the mean time. I'll just have to finish preparing the array so I can summon Skylark. I must buy time.

"Finish thinking of your strategy now, Shu"?

"Yeah, I've decided that, I will win this match".

"Huh, then come at me with your full strength".

"Mana Zone: Lightning Magic: Dragon Stream"!

Shu casted a spell above Himari.

"A huge lightning dragon huh. I've told you didn't I, it's useless against me". Himari said as she raise her hand pointing to the dragon.

"Mana Zone: Wind Magic: Dispersion"!

The huge lightning dragon of Shu banished in the air like it was just a part of wind.

"What"?

"Hmm. I've told you, didn't I? My dispersion is far greater from yours. Plus the worse affinity of our magic attributes makes it even worse for you. The wind can just destroy the lightning".

So she also knows the magic affinity. Just who the hell is she?

"Now, it's my turn to attack". Himari said as she vanished from the field.

"What? Where did she go? I can't sense her mana".

Suddenly, Himari came from Shu's back and have kicked him which sent him flying.

"Aghh"!

"Mana Zone: Wind Magic: Air Phoenix Stream"!

"s**t, I'll not make it in time".

The Wind Magic have created a huge smoke on field which is the dust floating on the air.

"So, did that finish him"?

"What the hell is Shu doing? Why won't he summon the Skylark"? Asahi said.

"Maybe he is planning something. Let's just see". Sora replied.

As the smoke disappears in the field, what unravels before their eyes is Shu standing.

"Mana Zone: Lightning Magic: Red Thunder Cloak"!

"So he managed to deflect the Phoenix Stream with that red lightning huh".

"It's my turn to attack this time".

"Just come at me anytime. I am always ready, Shu".
