To my engineering mind, I was fascinated with the spell she - oh, yeah, there was a pixie in my small cabin who was sending these dreams to me - so, anyway, there was this spell she had to weave. Mostly was the problem had to do with their prime numbers not aligning to ours. You know, 1,3,5,7,11,13,17, etc. Well, theirs were 1,3,5, 11.6, 135.27, and onward from there. Magic to them is a practical science like our own math is to us.
That's really what keeps our two universes mostly separate. More like, their universe overlays ours and occasionally touches ours in various points. The unexplainable ones. UFOs are something like it, but that's another one, as well as whales and the Loch Ness "monster" scene. All stuff unexplainable to us, but explainable in very "natural" rules to them.
