Champter three: Magic and guardians

                                                        ZOE's P.O.V

        "Whatever happened earlier, it's just a play okay?" Mr. torres said trying to calm us but more likely to calm himself. I know that it's not a play, not even a shooting in some fantasy movie!!!. I felt it. I felt something magical and powerful rushed thru my vein and I love it. I should be afraid of all melissa's stories because she always tell me that if someone finds out that we are magical we will be in big trouble but instead I love it. I love this feeling. 

        "Zoe?" Mrs. torres called me and asked me to come with her with hand gestures. I stood up and when i started walking I heard lots of whispers about me, how freaky I am and this is why I don't have friends. I always ended up being alone. I reached mrs. torres and she smiled at me "your sister is here" she said. Mrs. torres is sweet just like a mother I never had. 

         "Zoe!" melissa shouted from a distance and rushed to me and we hugged each other. she's worried I can feel it. 

          "Are you okay?" she asked and I just nodded. she fixed my messy hair and smiled. "we're going home now okay?" she said. she said it like we're going somewhere far away from this town and not in our actual house. this is what I'm scared of. moving from one city to another and I hate it. 

           "WHY? I mean I'm still in a class melissa" I said and break from her hug. 

          "it's okay zoe I already excuse you from mr. torres" Mrs. torres interrupted and smiled at us and again I can't fight or argue with my teacher so I just nodded my head. melissa hold my hand and we started walking and she squeezed my hand like something is bothering her. 

           "melissa are you okay?" I asked. 

            "of course, it's just-" she paused and stop walking, she kneel in front of me and holds me in my arms. "Zoe, we are going home and by home we are going somewhere far away" melissa said. I frowned and I knew it. I knew that we will be moving. "and it's about time for us to go home" she said. what did she mean about that?. we continued walking until we reach her car and we drive home back to our house. 

    When melissa parked her car into the garage I noticed a lot of kinds of bird and animals gathered around our house, of course our neighbors will be curious so they gathered around from the distance. 

            "Melissa look!!! A RAINDEER" I shouted as I rushed to the group of animals. she wanted to stop me but she's too late because I'm already in front of these beautiful creature and patted one of the baby deer's head but before I pat the big raindeers they all bowed their head. even the bird is looking down. I'm scared but i feel proud somehow. the people around us started whispering and of course some of them are taking pictures or videos. 

              "We need to get out of here" melissa said in her panicking voice "octavia perbelum" she enchants and I saw her eyes glowed into red fiery colors and then the animals rans after she chants those words. "Let's go zoe, They know we're here" melissa said and pulled me inside the house. 

            Melissa ran to her room and enchants some magical words again that automatically fixes her clothes. "Desig nitum avaye" she chants waving her hand and now our furniture started to shrink looking like little toys. 

            "Woah" I said in my amazement. "we are really magical" I continued as I watched her doing her magics.

             "we are not only magical zoe, we are guardians" she said smiling, she's also excited but I can also feel her worrying about something. 

               "do you mean we do magics like those stories we read on books?" I asked while still watching her and now she's fixing my clothes but this time she didn't use any kind of magic she do it manually which is weird. 

                "They're not stories from books but history of our ancestors" she smiled at me and when she's done with the last piece of clothing she put it on my luggage and stood up. "and we are going home to our land" she said sounding like someone from a royal family or a powerful wizard.

                  "Portivia portalus" she waved her wand pointing somewhere and then a portal appeared in front of us. I didn't notice my jaw dropped because of amazement. "Let's go" she said and she held my hand and squeeze it. Then we entered the portal and it leads us into a strange place. A place where a lot of people is wearing long kind of clothes because of a chilly weather, a lot of buildings and shops are like in a scenery of 19th century age, The people are busy buying stuffs like long brooms or books or carpets and armor and that's weird who uses armor in year 2000?

    "where are we melissa?" I asked 

    "Dragonia guardiano - The land of the guardians" she replied and we continued to walk. 

           melissa manage to buy 2 long thick robes and she put one on me. she pulled me again and we enter one shady shop.  There's a lot of eyes staring at us, some of them looks like a mob of goons or someone who take children like me. I hold melissa tighter. 

              "I need tickets for 2 earth guardians" melissa said to the shop owner. the huge looking man stared at melissa ready to eat us alive and that was scary and then suddenly "ADEYAH!!!" He shouted with laughter and excitement. He hugged melissa! "Long time no see adeyah" he said, wait who is adeyah? . 

               "long time no see andreux" melissa said - wait I don't know melissa have a second name. "Andreux this is my sister exousia" she said introducing me with my second name - well that's weird. 

                "Well hello there little one" Andreux reach for my hand and I held it to reach his but when he touched my palm there's a sudden electric feeling runs thru our palms that made us jerk. Andreux face became pale like he discovered something shocking. he turned to melissa.

                 "Adeyah is she?-" andreux asked and melissa just nodded her head like she was confirming something to the huge guy. "we need to get out of here" he then said and invited us to a door at the back of his bar stool. andreux open the door, I felt scared because from the store the room is very dark and creepy. We took few more steps and a light suddenly appeared from the ceiling showing a beautiful huge room. 

        Books are flying everywhere and brooms are cleaning the floor and stairs BY ITSELF! ha! even our vacuum can't do that! A mix of golden and white dust are raining down from the ceiling and it's beautiful. roots are greeting us with hot chocolates and weird shape biscuits. 

                 "Come sit in the couch " A pretty woman said, wait as I remembered we're with andreux.

                  "Where's andreux?" I asked while looking around, The woman chuckled.

                   "I'm here little one" my jaw dropped and there's no way that huge scary looking guy is this lady. "That guy you saw outside is my camouflaging armor" she said. 

                    "There's no way that a human flesh can be an armor" I said unconsciously and then she laughed again. 

                     "You have a point but when it comes to magic? everything is posibble" the pretty lady said and raised her palm catching bits of golden and silver dust then she blew it on the air. "octavia perbelum" she enchants and little people with butterfly like wings came out from the bookshelves and from furniture. They gathered around the pretty lady and bowed. 

                      "Greetings master, how can we serve you today?" a fairy with a grandpa voice asked still looking down. 

                       "Hello my friends, can you do me a favor and make two gravixus tickets for my friends here" andreux said and pointed at us. 

                        "of course master" The grandpa fairy said and gathered the other fairy to fly around and gather materials. one little fairy fly approaching me and looking at me from my chin to eyes. He's weird.

                        "Master!" the fairy flew away from me and approached andreux. "are you sure we can trust them? that little girl is ugly!" the boy said and my jaw dropped while melissa suppressed her laughter. "PETER what are you doing?" A motherly voice came rushing to the boi and pulled the boi from andreux. 

                   Andreux chucled "It's okay martina, peter you should look carefully," she paused for a while and looked at me "she's not ugly, she have a very beautiful soul and someday she will be a fine lady" andreux defended me and that made me smile, no one really complimented me other than melissa. "now go with martina and have some time to play okay?" andreux said offering peter to fly around and play, he looked at me and we both rolled our eyes with each other. 

                   "I am so sorry about that" andreux raised her hand an two large roots carries her to us. 

          "What are you?" I asked unconsciously and she laughed, I think I saw melissa faced palm herself. 

           Andreux laughed "I am an earth guardian" she said while giving me cookies "I can control trees, rocks and creatures" she continued "and I am also a guardian wizard" she said and sprinkled some golden dust on my cookie "Don't worry it's sweet just like a honey" she assured me, I stared at the cookie with sprinkled golden dust and it looks tasty so i took a bite and I almost blushed because it's very delicious. I never tasted a cookie as delicious as this. 

                    "Adeyah" andreux approached my sister and I feel like they need to talk in private so I just decided to mind my own business with this tasty cookies. 

              "Hello there young wizard" A fairy greeted me and I remember her name is martina. "I am sorry about my child he's not used to see guests" she said looking apologetic.

           I smiled. I feel the same way, Ive never been so close to anyone before, not even one friend. "it's okay. I've been always a stranger too so I know" I said with a sadness on my voice 

            "Oh young child don't be sad-" martina paused and pulled the fairy boy earlier "apologize to her" martina said forcing her son to apologize. his face is sour and he's about to cry, it's obvious that he don't want to apologize. 

            "I-im sorry okay?" he said in a rebellious tone. I chuckled and smiled at him 

            "Im sorry too I rolled my eyes at you" I said and stick out my hand "Truce?" I asked. 

            "Truce" he said smiling at me. 

           "ZOE" melissa called and approached me "I'm afraid we need to go now" melissa said afraid that it might hurt me to go now, now that i just made a friend. 

           I gave her a sad look but i know that i need to follow her so we can be safe. 

           "See you later cute fairy boy" I said waving my hand and held melissa's hand. did he just blush? nah it's just my imagination i guess he's too bright to see him blush.

             "little one" andreux called me and kneel in front of me "take this" she blew some golden dust into my necklace "and whenever you need me just call out my name okay?" she said and I just smiled and hug her. 

               "Thank you" I wisphered. 

             we break out from our hugs and andreux raised her hands. waving it in two separate direction and then rocks move by its own giving us a path. 

              "Go now, and please tell the grand master that I said HI" she said, I don't know who that is and melissa just laughed "of course I will" melissa responded. we then walk the path andreux made for us. 

               "So where are we going now?" I asked melissa while holding her hand and following the light from the distance. 

                "We are going to our safe haven" she answered. 

        When we reach the end of the passage everything is so wonderful and magical. it's like a dream that a kid like me wants to stay right here forever and this is not a dream it's a reality. a lot of people are holding brooms and some of them are flying with it. some riding pegasus and some of them don't even need such things because they have wings of their own. 

                "LAST TRIP TO THE SCHOOL OF WIZARDRY!" a man shouted as he waved his hand calling for any passenger that needs the ride to the said destination. melissa and I rushed to the shouting man and we gave our tickets. 

                "isn't that the titanic?" I said pointing the huge boat in front of us. it still have the damage from the iceberg but it looks like it's sealed with bluish force and inside is a with big stone rotating like it's giving power to the boat itself.

                "maybe, maybe not anymore" she said and then we got into the huge boat, I heard rumors about this titanic about what really happened and it's not the iceberg that made the boat sank.     

                "ALL ABOARD!" The captain shouted, then me and melissa climbed up and we walked straight to our designated rooms. when we enter a group of kids were gathered in the famous dance floor of the titanic "anymore students for Avalon school of magique?" A middle aged woman shouted like she's looking for more students to collect. 

                "Here!" Melissa said and pushes me in the crowd there I accidentally bumped with a kid who have a very pale skin and ash hair color and blue eyes. it's like he never got out to see the sun. 

                "AW" he said "I am so sorry" I replied to the kid  and I glared at melissa for her sudden action. 

                "It's okay but can you please give me space?" space? am I too close to him? as i can see I am 2 feet far from him. I stepped back. 

                "Err okay" I said then.

                "That's better, I have this condition called OCD I hate being touched or being unorganized, I cant help it" he said and tried to smile. I replied with a smile because I appreciate why he wants me to put a distance with me. "I am neil james" he said and bowed. 

                "i'm zoe" and I smiled back "umm why are we here again?" I asked. 

                "Well we are here because we are lucky enough to be chosen to enter the avalon wizardry school" a strange boy approached us wearing some geeky glasses. "You are lucky, I did everything I could to enter this school and I consider myself deserving" is he boasting or is he just smart based on what I'm hearing. 

                  "avalon huh?" I said to my self but enough for the two boys to hear me. they looked at me with suspicion. 

               "who are you by the way?" neil asked as he faced the geeky boy with curly hair. 

                "I am Von Evergreen and yes I am a human who made it here." 

                "aren't we all human?" I asked. von looked at me with shock in his eyes. 

                "are you?" he asked then I can't answer that one because from the very first time I open my eyes I thought I was a human. "I - um I" I stattered then he reached for my right hand check the mark on it. 

                 "you are not, apparently you are an earth guardian" he said. AM I? "and you?" von asked neil. 

                "Well I'm a wind guardian" he said. 

                  "Really? but why don't you have wings?" von asked 

                  "I'm a late bloomer okay?" he said, then a sound of horns gets our attention. 

              "Children of avalon" The woman said wearing "You are gathered he today to finally enter the school of wizardry and guardians. today is the day that you will learn the ways to balance this planet, WELCOME GUARDIANS OF AVALON" the woman shouted as the children hoorayed with excitement.
