Marilyn became more observant than ever. She had been at the back of the burner for weeks, thinking that she was in the know of everything going on around her, unknown to her that she had been slacking all the while. Now, as much as she was upset with Leo and Agnes, it felt good to know that they were now the ones being played for a fool.
She held in her anger until it was time for Agnes to go back home.
The night before Agnes' departure, Leo invited Agnes and Marilyn to his hotel for a subtle party. Everything went well that night. However, Marilyn did not get as drunk as the others because she needed her head clear on how she would break the news to Agnes in the morning, that she was aware of what they had all been hiding from her.
