'I refuse to talk to him alone,' Mara said stubbornly. 'I don't even know if I can trust him not to manipulate me.'
'Mara. It is a good thing that you know that a mate's hold on you is powerful so you will be prepared if the need be for you to resist his manipulation,' Dad said to Mara.
'Besides that, why will he want to talk to me when all he will eventually do is reject me when he discovers my past,' Mara said.
