Chapter Nine - Riddles

2115 Words
“Thank you, Ekkehard,” I said while a huge grin broke out on his face. ‘So handsome,’ that little voice said again. “Hello?” I answered “Hi. My sister said that there was a call. Is this Thola?” The boy replied. “Yes that is me,” I said taken a bit by surprise that he knew my name. “You must be Tarquinn?” I asked back. “Yes. Now I will be quick. The soldier, Malechai, said that if anything happened and you called that we need to explain. “My parents were taken after the soldiers met them. Their bodies were delivered to the shop and left with my sister, so when the soldiers came back they promised us that they would help us and that’s when he gave me your name. “He said that you would know what this means, ‘The day that I jumped, the day I had wings, is where I’ll go’. “With that info he said you will be able to find something out. But we need help! The bad guys are coming.” He said seemingly all in one voice. ‘Jumped?’ I thought Malé… ‘WAIT, I KNOW, WATERFALL!!!!’ I jumped to my feet without even thinking about what I am wearing and run out to the room with the map. No shoes and very little clothing in an army base full of men. ‘Oh boy,’ I thought as I passed a very amused Darrel and David, and Miles with his jaw dropped. Not the first time this has happened. “I will help you. I need you to get your bags ready. Now, I need to know where all the waterfalls you know about are.” I said finally making it to the map. “I have to go I will get back to you with that information. I promise.” He said as he hung up “f**k!!!” I screamed, ready to throw the phone when a hand stopped me. “YA by ne stal delat' etu printsessa” (I wouldn’t do that princess.) That voice I thought, he came, as I turned around tears flooded my eyes. He’s the only one that knows just what happened. He’s safe I thought as he engulfed me in a hug. “Ty prishel!” (You came) I stated as I cried, vaguely aware that Darrel, David, Miles, Frederick and Ekkehard entered the room. “Man, I knew that you would come. It’s good to see you Christian,” David said. “She hasn’t cried at all has she?” He asked “No she refused. You know how she is and now Malé is out there and god knows what’s happening. I’m surprised she’s doing it now,” Darrel sighed. “Ya proshu proshcheniya.” (I am sorry) I said wiping my face and collecting myself. “I know that was uncalled for Christian. It’s just… You came. I needed to let my frustration out a different way.” I said sending a glance to Ekkehard who looked… Hurt? ‘No can’t be,’ I thought. “Already beat someone up and killed your fists huh?” Christian chuckled “That’s an understatement. Her fists looked like minced meat and that poor fool never stood a chance.” Ekkehard chuckled, “One punch, the poor sap,” he shook his head. His eyes never left mine and I felt that I wanted to be in his arms instead of Christian’s. ‘That’s odd I barely know the man and I want to always be close to him?’ ‘Because he is ours’ that voice answered, surprising me. “Well,” I said getting everyone's attention “Malé knew that something was going to happen after they met with the informant. He promised their kids that he would help them because their parents were killed. The message that Malé left with the boy was something that only someone close to him would know,” I chuckled. “‘The day that I jumped, the day I had wings is where I’ll go.’ Now at first I was hella confused cause like, what the f**k? Right? “Wrong, we were hiking in the mountains one day and we came across a lake that was being fed by a HUGE waterfall and Malé being the weird ass individual he is says, ‘Hey, why not? Let’s jump.’ “So, not wanting to die, I just watched from below. When he jumped I swear he grew wings the way the sun hit him it was like he was flying. So when he got back to me I said to him, ‘Brother! you grew wings when you jumped.’ He just laughed it off and after that it was a joke, that he jumped and grew wings. “SO! Now I know that we are looking for waterfalls and bodies of water, but I am 100% sure that wherever he went will NOT be on this map. I asked the boy on the phone but he said that he had to check into it. And, well, that’s why I kinda lost it.” I said looking at Christian with an apologetic look. “I will need a few things, Miles. I will get the info. I know it will be hard but I am bringing them back. They deserve at least this much. Their parents died for us and I will not abandon their children.” I finished “Names, ages, birth dates. You know the drill. I will do my absolute best to get their citizenship but just know, they will most likely make you adopt them. You okay with that?” He asked “Absolutely,” I said looking around the room. Their faces wore all the same look of shock. Except Ekkehard. His held pride and again… Love? ‘What the f**k? I can’t be imagining it. Can I?’ I thought. ‘You’re not,’ I heard that voice again. ‘Great! Now I am getting used to that voice in my head, this can’t be a good sign.’ ‘But it is good’ the voice replied. “Now I am in desperate need of a shower and some fresh clothes,” I stated. “Dress in your uniform. Its time we get to the briefing.” Miles said before I had a chance to leave. “Yes sir,” I replied and left. Once I got to my room I pulled out my uniform, staring at it, thinking about the day I got it. * Flashback * “Well, well look at my baby sister,” I hear behind me. I turn and jump into his arms “Malé I DID IT!” I screamed. “Chert, (Damn) Thola no need to yell in my ear,” he chuckled as he spun me around. “I am so proud of you princess. You came a long way” Malechai whispered in my ear. “YA budu v poryadke, brat, Teper'. kogda ya vernu tebya,” (I am going to be okay brother. Now that I have you back) I said wiping a tear. * Flashback over * Sighing I finally decided to get up and take my shower. I stand under the water as it cascades down my body my and mind wanders to Ekkehard. His handsome face, his big hands ‘I wonder what it would feel like to have his hands running over my body’ I thought as my hands started to wander my body wishing it was his hands. They trail over my breasts making my n*****s harden sliding down my stomach lower and lower as I think about him wishing he was here, as my hand came into contact with my c**t I moaned his name surprising myself. I continued my assault, entering two fingers into my p***y sliding in and out as I continue to moan, biting my lip as I get closer and closer to my release. I cried out as my orgasm tore through me and I, again, called out his name. ‘What the f**k is wrong with me?’ I thought ‘I just got myself off to the thought of a handsome stranger I had only met today.’ Feeling ashamed I finished my shower. I cut the water off and pulled my towel around my body securing it in place. Upon entering my room I almost had a heart attack! I saw Ekkehard sitting on my bed with a heated look on his face. “What the hell are you doing in my room?” I screamed, clutching my chest and blushing hoping to God that he didn’t hear me getting myself off and calling his name. “I uhh...” he trailed off “I was coming to let you know that Miles wanted us. But I heard you say my name so I thought you needed help, and that’s when I came in here and realized you were in the shower umm… Yeah,” he said. “Oh dear lord!” I said. “Okay, I will be out in a moment. Umm, can we please just forget this happened? Please?” I said blushing even more as he walked out of my room with a very obvious b***r. “Umm, there is a bathroom 2 doors to the right. You can, um, take care of your little problem there before we go.” I said, really embarrassed to be having this conversation with a complete stranger. Getting dressed in my uniform and tying my hair into a neat bun, I was finally ready to go. As I leave my room Ekkehard is waiting at my door with his hands in his pockets. ‘Looks like he dealt with his problem,’ I sighed to myself, wishing that I could have helped. ‘I wonder how big he is… Wait! Stop! This is how we got in this situation in the first place. Damn my dirty mind.’ “Ready to go?” I asked looking anywhere but his face. “Yeah,” was his clipped answer. ‘Hope I didn’t make him mad,’ I thought to myself. ‘Of course you did, you i***t. He caught you getting yourself off to thoughts of him.’ Came that f*****g voice again. We walked in an awkward silence all the way to the meeting room where we are to have our mission briefing and meet the last member of our team. Upon arriving at the meeting room I notice two things. One is that everyone is waiting for us and, two is that Frederick is smirking at Ekkehard while he just glares back at him like they’re sharing a private joke. “Uh, sorry for making you wait I got... Distracted,” I said taking a seat. “Right then,” Miles started. “First I would like to introduce you all to Evan.” He pointed to a man about 24 sitting there with a smug look on his face. ‘I don’t like him,’ the voice said. “Evan, this is Thola, Darrel, David, Christian, Ekkehard, and Frederick,” Miles said pointing to each of us when he said our names. “Now for the heavy stuff,” he said shooting me a look. “As we all are aware Mystic Dawn has gone missing. The team is made up of 4 soldiers and lieutenant. In this case, the lieutenant is Malechai Knezaeck. “The last contact we had from the team was when they checked in after meeting with their informants who are now dead. However, Thola has made contact with the informants’ children who were given instructions on what to do and say by lieutenant Malechai, when contact was made by us. We are now searching for bodies of water with waterfalls.” “And how are we sure that is where he will be. What makes you so sure?” The rookie interrupted.  “Malechai and Thola have a weird bond. He likes to toy with her, leaving her riddles. And, well, the riddle came. And, well, we have our answer,” Darrel said.
