Chapter Ten - Sunny

“Pfft… Like a woman could know ANYTHING about this kind of stuff. Why is she here anyways?” He said.

“THE f**k DID YOU JUST SAY?” I roared ‘Now I know this i***t ain’t just said that,’ I thought, almost out loud. “I know that man probably better then he knows himself,” I said projecting my irritation. But he didn’t answer.

Taking that as a sign to continue Miles said, “Now, the lieutenant of this Op will be Thola, as she stated she does in fact know this man, and team I might add, better than anyone else here.”

Again he was interrupted “WHAT? Why the hell are you letting this obvious w***e lead this mission?” The rookie said with a sneer on his face.

‘What the hell?’ I thought my back started itching uncontrollably. The pain was unbearable as my anger got more and more out of control and my body started heating up.

“I’M A WHAT?” I screamed both in pain and anger as I shoot up from my seat, meaning to continue but I just can’t because of the unbearable pain.

“Malechai is Thola’s brother and they are extremely close, inseparable if you will. She will know all his moves because they trained together. As for the team, Mystic Dawn, Thola is the original lieutenant, so of course she would know them the best. Therefore, she is the best...” Miles was trying to explain.

I couldn’t listen to Miles anymore. The searing pain in my back made me fall to my knees causing all attention on me. Miles, David and Darrel have surprised but knowing looks on their faces, like they knew exactly what was happening. Ekkehard and Frederick exchange a look of confusion while the rookie ‘Evan’ just stared at me horrified.

“HOLY s**t! It’s happening,” Darrel said.

“That means she’s met her mate,” Christian replied. They all looked at each other and turned to Ekkehard.

“It’s you isn’t it?” Christian asked and Ekkehard just nodded back.

“WHAT THE f**k IS HAPPENING? IT f*****g HURTS!” I gritted out as tears spill down my face.

“Calm down princess we will explain after,” David said turning to Ekkehard. “You need to help her. She is awakening her other side. Go to her.” He said, confusing the f**k out of me with my already pounding head.

The next thing I know there are two warm, strong arms wrapped around me and I hear that sexy deep voice cooing me. Telling me everything will be all right easing the pain, but only just slightly. Looking into his eyes I get lost in the beautiful blue and his manly scent mixed in with the smell of the woods, coconut and pineapples, my favourite.

“Holy s**t!” I hear Evan and Frederick utter at the same time while the pain finally goes away.

‘Hello dear. My name is Sunny. I am your guardian. You are a fairy.’ I hear that voice again but this time it is stronger.

‘A what?’ I thought.

“Beautiful...” Ekkehard says gazing at me with sparkling eyed full of… Love?

‘Yes that is definitely love,” Sunny says

‘Well I am glad I have a name for you now.’ I said as I hear her chuckle.

Standing up I feel something flutter on my back.

“What the hell?” I say turning my head to see that I now have a set of beautiful pearly pink, iridescent wings coming from my back.

Snapping my gaze back to the guys, I growl angrily “WHAT THE f**k IS HAPPENING?” causing them all to flinch, drop to one knee and bow.

“Forgive us my queen. We were forbidden to share anything with you. We were told that you had to wait for your mate and then you would be able to know the truth. Only when you had someone by your side to keep you safe could we tell you.” Christian said, his head still bowed.

“What is Mate?” I asked because Sunny kept raving over and over about ‘mate’.

“Umm about that...” Christian trailed off, looking at Ekkehard, who stands and walks toward me. Wrapping me in a hug effectively calming me down and sending tingles all over my body, allowing the guys to rise to their feet. It is only then did I realize everyone in this room was bowing to me, including Evan. Who, by the looks of it, is just human.

“A mate is the one person that you are destined to be with. Someone you would live and die for. They are your soulmate. Your other half” Ekkehard said to me and by the way he said it I now knew who Sunny was talking about.

“So you are my soulmate? Then, is that why you looked hurt when I hugged another man? And why I feel the tingles and get lost in your eyes?” I asked. He growled and damn, was that hot.

“Yeah, about that…” He trailed off looking at Christian.

“We are not together, we tried but it just was not meant to be. We have a different bond” Chris said.

“Ek,” I said making him look to me. We stared at each other for about a minute until finally I slammed my lips to his. He grabbed me by my thighs to lift me. Making me wrap my legs around his waist he shoved my back into the wall closest to us.

“SEE! I TOLD YOU SHE IS A w***e!” Evan said with a raised voice, causing all my self-control to wither away. I pried myself from my mate, who was trying to keep a hold on me so I don’t kill him. Moving so fast that no one knew how I got over to Evan so fast and grabbed him by the throat.

“YOU WILL NOT DISRESPECT ME, HUMAN!” My voice was not mine and I was riding shot gun while Sunny had control of our body. It scared the hell out of me, it was like I was present and watching someone else control my body.

“Ye-es ma’am,” Evan stuttered.

Soon we felt Ek behind us and whispering in our ear. “Please, give me Thola back Little Mate.”

 “My name is Sunny,” she declared just before giving me back control of our body, causing me to drop Evan to the floor.
