Chapter 16

1752 Words
Your heart melts at his soulful words and you willingly go back into his arms.  Each previous time now seems to have been lustful, hurried, a goal to get to the finish line.  This feels different.  The sparks between you two are still there but burning at a low, steady ember.  You wonder if he just isn’t healed enough therefore, taking it slow., However, although unhurried, his actions have no less power or prowess than any other time.  You give back caress for caress, kiss for kiss, and pleasure for pleasure.  His entry is unhurried and slow.  You’ve never thought that doing such could be so pleasurable.  When he is fully seated he stops.  Looking down into your eyes, you can see love?  Perhaps not fully love but completeness.  And for the first time ever you finally understand what the words, ‘and two shall become one’ mean.  His eyes flash to a larger iris and his head drops to your neck.  As he starts moving, his mouth attacks the tender spot on your neck.  His ministrations begin to drive you wild, but he continues his slow pace.  You can't stand it anymore and cry out, “Please, faster!” Those words answered with a growl.  His lips leave your neck and crush to yours.  The rhythm picks up as you find your release and take him over the edge with you. He rolls to the side exhausted.  Tucks you under his arm and with a kiss to your forehead, the two of you fall back to sleep. *** “Sam” You look over to find Fenrir, still lying by the edge of the water.  He has changed position and is now lying on all fours, his head resting on his paws, staring at you. “You’re feeling better?”  You ask as you sit up. He lifts his head with your movement. “Yes, our mate.  You shared energy, helped me to heal faster.  He will be better after rest.” “He?  Gregory?” “Yes” You suddenly blush. ”Wait, how do you know?  Were you watching us?” He turns his head seeming to not understand.  “Not watching, there.” You pull back, “Okay, I’m losing it even in my dreams now.  I don’t understand.  Gregory is my mate, how were you ‘there’?” His head moves to face you directly, his gaze intense.  “Gregory and I are one.” Your head tilts back in laughter.  “Um, Fenrir, you know I adore you but you’re an animal and Gregory is human.  There can be no ‘one’.” His head goes back to his paws.  “I ask, he says not yet.  He is scared you will not love us as one, only separate.” “You ask?  What does that mean?” “Hard to explain, must show.  You have accepted us as mate, I will ask again.” With that he gets up and pads off into the trees.  You stare after him sadly.  You’ve never seen him like this and he always comes to you.  He never…just leaves. *** You wake up needing to pee and starving.  Looking at your phone on the nightstand you see it’s already six in the evening.  You’ve slept the day away with Gregory.  I must have been more tired than I thought, you muse.  You untangle yourself gently from his grasp and head to the bathroom.  For the first time, he does not tighten his grip to keep you but remains out cold.  You check on him again on your way to the kitchen.  Staring at his chest, you can see he’s breathing and you relax a little. He’s body has been depleted, Philip said.  He’s had rest and…other things.  You smile to yourself, stretching lazily before opening the fridge.  You look into the freezer and see that neither of  really bought any meat.  Strange.  Well, if his body is depleted he needs protein.  You remember the dinner with Philip and the giant steaks they had eaten as if they were appetizers.  You pull out a chair and pull up Door Dash.  There has to a steakhouse somewhere that delivers. You’re sitting on the couch, snacking on chips when you hear movement from the bedroom.  Wandering in you find the bed empty and the bathroom light on.  You knock on the door, “Are you okay?” “Yeah.  I’ll be out in a minute.” Nodding you head back to the couch, seeing that your delivery will arrive any minute.  You put the chips back, grab drinks from the fridge and place them out on the coffee table. A shirtless Gregory, in only pajama bottoms appears from your bedroom as the doorbell rings.  He raises an eyebrow, looking towards you. “Philip said depleted, which means to me that you need protein.  I guess we need to stock more red meat in the house, I didn’t have any.”  You point to the couch, “Sit please,” and go to answer the door. As you tip the driver and close the door, he looks confused by the bags in your hands.  You bite your lip, smile and shrug. “So there are no Steakhouses that deliver around here.  I did the best I could, I hope it’s enough.  I wasn’t sure.” He takes the bags from 5 Guys  from your hands and begins emptying them.  There are five double bacon cheeseburgers with everything but the hot sauce and A1.  Then there is a tiny, in comparison, regular bacon cheeseburger and an extremely large cup of fries.  He stares at all the food for a minute, than lets out a  loud belly laugh.  His face grimaces and his hand grips his side.  You’re instantly nervous and kneel over him.  “What is it?  Does something still hurt?  What don’t I know about?” He pulls you in for a hug and a quick kiss.  “There’s nothing you don’t know about, I'm fully healed, just still a little sore.”  He then smirks, “And yes, you did a quite thorough examination earlier, I’m sure you would have found anything I was trying to hide.” You blush and drop your head.  “I wasn’t the one who started it,” you quip back.  He chuckles a little, thinks better about it and kisses your forehead. “You are correct and it was what I needed.  Thank you love, for everything today…”  He points to the food, “and for all of this.” You turn towards the food, “I wasn’t sure but you ordered a 30 oz steak which is roughly a little over 2 pounds, at the restaurant. Hamburger definitely isn’t steak but ground up red meat.  Each patty is a quarter pound – so ten patties is roughly just over 2 pounds right?”  You’re worrying your bottom lip, trying to figure out if he’ll have enough when he smiles and pulls your lip out from your teeth.  “You did well sweetheart.  Thank you.  Now I’m starved.  Let’s eat.” You turn on the television and by the time you’ve finished your one regular hamburger, he has already downed three of his and half the fries.  You just watch wide eyed but say nothing. He catches you staring and grins.  “Didn’t you order it for me to eat?” You nod; a look of amazement on your face.  “You eating it in my head as opposed to you actually seeing you eating it is just unreal.” He grabs the remote from the coffee table and turns to the movies, “Do you want to catch the second Underworld?” When you don’t answer, he looks over at you.  “What?  I’m here this time, I’ll protect you.” You shake your head, playing smacking him on the shoulder.  “I’m not scared silly.” He puts the remote back down and turns his body towards you, “Then what?  I thought you liked the first one?” ‘I did…it’s just, ugh it sounds stupid.” He lifts your chin to look you in the eyes, “Nothing is stupid coming from you.  Tell me.” You shrug, “I just had the strangest dream after I watched it last night.” “Go on…” “Well, I’ve been having these weird dreams for the last several weeks.” He nods with a big grin, “Yes, I remember.  You’ve been dreaming about doing naughty things with me.” “Not just you…” He pulls back, “Say that again?”  A low rumble sounding from his chest. “No. No. Oh God. NO!”  You sigh, “I meant I haven’t just been dreaming about you.  I’ve also been dreaming about this big, beautiful black wolf named Fenrir.” His eyes immediately rise to yours and then look off to the side.  He takes a bite of his hamburger and says, “I see.  Are these nightmares?”  He’s watching you from the corner of his eye, waiting for a reaction. You shift, seeing Fenrir in your mind.  “Not at all.  At first I was intimidated.  He’s a freaking giant!  He must be at least seven feet tall on all fours!” “Seven and a half,” Gregory quietly mumbles, shoving in another bite of burger. “What?” you ask.  He just shakes his head, pointing to his mouth. You nod and continue, “Anyway. the weird thing is he talks!  I mean what animal in real life does that?  In English I mean, we all know they have their own languages, duh.” He simply nods and you continue.  “And I’ve told him about you.” Gregory’s head swivels back to you, his eyebrow raised.  “You have?” You nod, biting your fingernail and then licking your lips.  “Yeah, he calls me his ‘mate’, just like you do.  So I tried to explain that I’ve already accepted you as my mate so I can’t be his.” Gregory is suddenly choking on his hamburger.  He puts the rest down and begins hitting his chest.  You quickly stand up and begin pounding on his back. “Are you okay? Can you breathe?” He nods his head, reaching for his drink and quickly downs it.  After a few more coughs, he clears his throat.  “I’m going to throttle him.”
