Chapter 12 Amelia woke up anxious about meeting King, she had woken up very early around four in the morning, taking her time to practice what she would discuss with him. It shouldn't be hard because she just wanted to seek his permission to start working yet she felt uneasy. She heard a knock at the door and jerked away from the mirror. "Who is there?" She asked, wondering who was up this early. "It's me," Hazel's sweet voice filled the room and Amelia sighed in relief as she walked toward the door. She hadn't used up to a week here and she already loved being with Hazel. "Amy," Her cheerful voice boomed as Amelia opened the door, Hazel sauntered in but paused as she roamed her eyes on Amelia. "You look pretty, did you have an appointment?" Amelia gave her a small smile. "Thank you and yes." "Okay, best of luck." Amelia loved how Hazel just wished her luck and didn't try to dig into her affairs. She didn't have the energy to explain what was happening to her. Hazel dug her hand into her brazier's pocket and brought out a small white container. "Here, it's for you." Amelia arched her brows in confusion as she collected it. She twisted it in her hand and her eyes widened when she read the content. "You got me a scar removal?" Hazel laughed nervously, hitching the back of her neck. "Let's just say" Amelia pulled her into a hug before she completed her sentence. "Thank you." She muttered, hugging her close. This meant everything to her, she hated her scars so much but didn't have money for the cream, it was one of the reasons she wanted to start working. Amelia pulled away from the hug smiling, unable to recognize the uneasiness on Hazel's face, how she needed to complete her sentence. "You are welcome," Hazel muttered eventually and exhaled. "I will leave you to get ready then." She said and blew Amelia a kiss before leaving the room. Amelia exhaled and smiled as the door closed behind Hazel, she would definitely buy Hazel a gift when she started working. She opened the cream to apply it to her scar, and a sweet rose fragrance hit her nose, indicating how expensive it was. She applied the cream on her neck, and both arms before she stepped out. At six-thirty, she stood by King's door hoping he would be awake by this time, she rubbed her sweaty palms on her red dress and breathed in and out. She glanced at her dress and nodded, the person who curated her closet did a good job, and thanks to her new diet. The red dress clutched her curves, with a deep V-neckline. It stopped above her knees showing her long beautiful legs. She inhaled and exhaled before knocking on the door. "Good morning Alpha King. It's Amelia." She heard a ruffled sound before his thick voice gave her permission. She stepped in gently and a sweet and spicy scent, a mixture of musk and honey filled her nose. King stood in the middle of his room before the mirror as he buttoned the button in his white suit jacket, and brushed his black hair backward with his hand. Amelia had to give it to him, with the way he looked good in everything he wore. "What did you want?" He asked hastily while checking his wristwatch as he turned to her. Amelia swallowed, it's Monday morning. She should have known that he would be busy. "I'd like to start my job hunting today." At that, King raised his head from his watch and glanced at her. His eyes twitched as they roamed around her. "No." His voice came sharp with his still eyes on her. "What?" He shrugged. "You heard me." Amelia stared at him with wide eyes. "Why are you going back on your words? You said I should work for my money." King rolled his eyes walking to his desk, he grabbed his phones and pocketed them. "Yes, but you have to work for me then. I can't have my Luna working under someone else." Amelia threw her head back frustrated. "That was clearly not what you said, I don't want to work for you." She wouldn't survive if she saw King every day, why was he changing his words? And he called her 'my Luna', which gave her goosebumps. "Then sit at home." "Seriously?" She whined jumping which made her breast spill out of the dress. King's eyes darted to her chest before he snapped his eyes close and walked away from her side. Amelia sniffed while walking behind him. "This is cheating." "Amelia!" He snapped turning to her. His gray eyes were darker as his wolf almost surfaced. "Don't stress me. Work for me or sit the f**k home." Amelia stood rigid at the power emitting from him, she blinked back in shock. "I will sit home then!" She sniffed before storming out. Amelia fell on the bed as she got to her room, she buried her head in the pillow and cried loudly. Why was he changing his mind? She couldn't work for him, working for him meant seeing him every day. That would get her killed quickly, King had a hot temper and she wouldn't want to get on his temper. Her tears refused to stop because they hurt so much, every plan of hers kept getting shattered and that broke her heart. A knock came on her door and she hissed lifting from the bed. "What?" She growled. "I brought your breakfast." "Take it away." She ordered and hissed. She heard a retreating step and she sighed before staggering to the ensuite. Her stomach grumbled and she groaned, rejecting breakfast was the worst revolting action she could do but maybe the Alpha King would listen to her. Just as she finished changing into a blue shirt and a pair of trousers, a knock came up on her door and she groaned. "What?" "Alpha King demands your presence in the dining room." "What?" She screamed rushing to the door. She yanked it open and glared at the blonde maid. "Did you report me to him?" She snapped. The maid blinked with tears brimming her eyes. "No_" "Gosh, save it." Amelia rolled her eyes. "Just lead the way." The maid nodded timidly and led the way. Amelia's heart palpitated loudly as she strolled to the dining room. Her breath hitched when King's cold glare welcomed her, she removed her gaze and nodded at Hazel, who nodded back at her. "You called me," Amelia asked, taking her seat. She signaled to stop the maid from putting food on her plate. Seeing that, King paused from eating and fixed Amelia a cold glare. "Have your breakfast or…" He let his words hang In the air as he looked at her hand. Amelia gasped, hiding her arm under the table. What the hell? Is he thinking of cutting her arm? "Okay." She muttered under her breath and gripped the fork tightly while the maid attended to her. Hazel chuckled glancing at them then shook her head and continued eating, Amelia glared at her which made her chuckle again. Amelia rolled her eyes, she knew King was doing a good thing by forcing her to eat, especially breakfast which she mustn't skip. Yet as she bit the food, she couldn't contain her anger. She hated being controlled so much and she would show King that.
